Late notice but there's a 'seat time' event there friday/saturday and I'm going Smile Probably not any interest in anyone else coming along but figured I'd post it up anyways.

Event recap: Had a fantastic time!

The seat-time event was well organized, laid back, on time and a very safe group of drivers. Each group got about 3.5 hrs of track time - I dont think you can beat that for the $$ as a student. Roebling isnt exactly a country club, but if you wanted to check this track out this is definately the way to go for the amount of track time you get.

The track is fairly easy to learn, but pretty damn tough to go fast at. Track map here: http://www.roeblingroad.com/track.html - all the turns are big and its tough to pick up references on the track to place the car for corner entry. Turn 1 is a fast 4th gear entry, and down to 3rd gear for T2. Up to 4th gear and flat out through T3 if you have tires (i dont). T3 is slower and back down to 3rd gear, carry 3rd all the way through T7. Shift to 4th coming out of T7 and flat out through T8 - my exit speed in the sled was about 105, and i could hit about 125 down the front straight. The sled understeered pretty bad on friday then saturday I stopped being a pussy and upped my entry speed, and once i could get the car sliding a bit on entry i could throttle steer it around through the big sweepers. I would hate to drive a FWD on crappy tires around that place. Its pretty hard on tires, although my ES100's seem to hold up alright, but they would get a bit greasy.

I only had one student, an older guy in a Porsche 996 that had never been on or seen a track before. Ever. Didnt have a clue. But I had a great time. He took to instruction very well, and was going pretty fast by the end of the weekend - excellent student overall. He did have his first taaaaaaaaank slapaarruuuuuuuu and spun off into the sand in T6 the 2nd day. Overall I think the car is pretty boring - the interior is really bland, it was very quiet inside, not terribly fast (280hp?) and pretty much devoid of any evil handling characteristics. It would still push a bit on corner entry and slowly changed into a neutral/slight oversteer by corner exit. Nice car I guess... I'd rather have an 993 RS America for half the coin.
