Brake Rotors - Does it matter?

VIR: 1, Cheap rotor: 0

The rotor completely separated from the hat, as I was braking for Turn 1 at VIR :pucker:

I'll get a better picture up eventually. Props to Jack for this pic, and to him, Chad, Mark Hughes, and a couple of other folks for helping me swap the brakes in record time.

Ordered some Mitsubishi OEM rotors today. Talked to a fellow who tracks his Z with this brake setup, he hasn't had a problem with those rotors. We'll see.

how are they gonna come off? they are held snug with the damn lug nuts... the only reason to need them to be ubersnugtight is when the wheel is off, which the jb weld does perfectly.

i shoulda JB welded the holes in the block and seen how long it would run ;-) bent valves, scared piston, and JB weld

I've ordered better rotors - and they're gonna see a lot of testing before I trust 'em on track. And, we're not going to CMP (I don't think), we'll be at Road Atlanta next...
