Chris Wrote:Scotty, can you drive on that to VIR? Dave and I have been doing a lot of suspension work... I feel much more confident now. Your car isn't under warranty is it?
oh hell yeah its fine. like i said....i had no idea anything was even wrong til i took a look at it! car handles fine, seems to absorb bumps like always. i feel like there is at least ample oil still left in the shock to absorb anything but an enormous jump. i'm still going to take it out for touring laps at VIR
P.S - you guys are awesome for offering such help. i will definitely need it at a later date to change this biatch out.

called h-burg honda today just out of curiousity to see what they'd charge to replace both front shocks. yeah.....over 400 bucks. ricockulous. i have a feeling most places will charge this much, which basically makes me definitely want to do this myself.
i don't mean to be selfish but do you think we could do a wrench day sometime before spring break? i'd like to replace these, and i know some of you guys said you'd be willing to help. i figure if there's a few of us out there messing around we might as well turn it into an event. plus, im sure a few of you guys will want to change back to different pads/tires and what not after VIR.

duuuude, easy fix. f stealerships. your best bet is to find some ricer who slammed his accord (although most still use the stock shocks) the right way and pick theirs up used and on the cheap. won't take more than 30min a side.

or..
call up Import Auto Salvage, and get some stock shocks off them..
Don't mean to impose on your topic but I was also wondering if I could possibly hop in on a wrench day  to install some performance springs that were just shipped to me. I am def. up for the job but would need some help with the tools and some more savy suspension know how. If this is at all possible please let me know, would be a huge help to me. See you guys tomorrow at the meeting.
Ok well if we have a suspension day i'll most likely have to buy mikes CRX rear control arms and have bushings put in them... and put the koni and GC on my car :-P they've only been in the living room/basement for over a year now!

but what if i wana be a ricer with m000gen bushings? or polys in the rear lowers... that seams to be what all the IT guys do... and if i have an extra set of control arms i can just keep swapping them if the polys wear fast.

Poly bushings would be fine for t3h street. Spherical bushings, not so much.
