Scenic Drive Feb. 26th

Saturday the 26th at 1pm we'll be going on a scenic drive. As in the past, these events are simply fun spirited drives- within the legal limits! If there is any crazy, dangerous driving you will be asked to leave. Bring your cameras and get some shots of the group!

Lets take 33 west again, that was awesome. Any other suggestions?

We can meet somewhere on 33- whats a good spot?

I don't know if you are up for a two hour drive, but there is an awesome loop that I take on the motorcycle that includes 33. You take 33W to Franklin, then 220 to Monteray VA, then 250 back over the mountain (and you thought 33 was twisty?), then 42 or 11 back up to H'burg. On my bike, including a break in Monteray, it takes 2 hours. I'd budget 2.5 hours. Which, in actuality, isn't that much longer than reddish knob took. There are two "official" seanic overlooks near the top of 33 and the top of 250. 250 is highly regarded as an awesome road, and it's right in our back yard.

If there turns out to be a group of folks that want to go home, and a group that wants to do the loop, I might be interested in leading the group for the rest of the loop.

Jess grew up in Monterey - and thats where we got married. It definitely is beautiful out there.. The view from the Confederate battlements (which is what I think you're talking about) is breathtaking.

Maybe we can work out lunch at the Stone Hearth in town...

i have seats. we've done reddish knob at least 3 or 4 times now, so a new route would be good.

sounds awesome pete. it'd be nice to find another nice stretch of road...especially if there isn't as much traffic on it. that was a pain last time because overtaking a slow car meant splitting the group up.

The drive sounds like a lot of fun.. I'd love to join you guys for a nice scenic ride.. one thing I regret is not getting out into the mountains enough while at school. If all goes well I hope to see you all on the 26th.
