Could be your boost controller. If it doesn't have a large enough hole/valve, the boost will spike like that. Just an idea.

Thanks for the idea but I was holding a good 25psi on the last turbo set up. Several things have been changed since I switched over, the boost controller is not one of them. The airflow logs from then and now are completely different...the ones from my dyno session are very nice curves whereas now I've got up and down hills throughout the curve.

My buddyÔÇÖs car was put in the shop after I mentioned your problem. He says "you know what, that happened to me too!" and in it went. The tech says the car is very protected by the computers and they will turn down the boost at low gears to prevent loss of traction. The computer makes note of regular tire slip and retards boost to prevent torque steer and slip as the tires ware. Dusty's car was a solid jaw-dropper off the line when he first got it...now it is a wheel-hop queen with worn out tires. This is something I have never heard of before and he said it was something he read on a Tech-Connect web post from Chrysler. The same poster tells us that the car is so protected by its own electronics that it is "bulletproof."

I've driven a 04' Accord SE with 12,000 on it; that sounded like someone was banging a hammer against the firewall all the way from Woodstock to Winchester, just to add my war story. Sebrings and Stratus' are really noisy when hooked to the 2.0L platform. The 2.7 (my grandmother has a 02' with 6,000miles, HAR!) is a very quiet and smooth running car compared to the noisy 2.0. I dunno, Chrysler can never get the 4-banger down right.

I finally took the car in last week. I called Dodge today and they told me they found a lot of oil in my turbo. Like i said before, i'm new to this whole turbo thing. Anybody ever heard of this before?
huh, thats not good. Thats what a turbo timer prevents if I'm not mistaken. But as much as I hate to say it, that is prolly a defect at only a year or 2 old. Warranty is taking care of it I trust? Best of luck.

Oil in your turbo is a result of failure of the bearings and seals, typically from wear. A turbo timer prevents this somewhat by cooling down your turbocharger (by idling the engine for a set period of time) in order to disallow the oil to "cook" on your turbo's bearings. If oil was allowed to "cook", the next time the turbo spun up it would score your bearings and increase the wear. This is also why you should never blaze like a bat out of hell into your driveway and cut your (turbo) car off. Take it easy for the last half mile or so.
But even if you beat the absolute shit out of your car you shouldn't be seeing that kind of bearing wear in so short a time. Your 10/100 powertrain warranty that Dodge loves to hawk so much ought to take care of it. Unless, of course, you modified the car somehow. Then you're screwed. Time for a Mopar upgrade turbo.

Dodge is taking care of it under warranty. I had a feeling something would break (damned neons :evil: ), so i kept the car as stock as possible. I don't have a turbo timer, cuz i'm not sure if they would use it to somehow void my warranty. But i almost always let the car idle for at about a minute before i turn it off, and after "spirited" driving, I give it 3 to 5 minutes.
I bought the car in june, and started noticing power loss in November. So even if I were abusing the hell out of it, this still aint right. Dodge said they were gonna install a pcv valve. Hope that fixes it. Either way i'm pretty pissed. I wonder if i should keep babying the car, or if I should rag the shit out of it from now on?

agreed. plus, if you bought an SRT you are wasting your time/money babying it. if you bought a neon to piddle around town and get you to bingo sessions on wednesday nights, thats one thing. but if you bought one to haul ass, use it as intended (intelligently)

I've had bad luck with this car ever since i bought it. 5 days after I got it, some pricks busted out my front and rear windshield, and my two driver-side windows too. Then when the whore at dodge was replacing my front driver side window, he scratched the hell out of my door. So I had to get it repainted. The car was 10 days old, and it already had new glass and new paint. I was a little bit pissed. And now my turbo goes. I had fewer problems with my 40 year old mustang.
I've got pics of the car with the windows busted, i just don't know how to post pictures.
 knew the srt4 was too good to be true. i wonder if this problem is widespread?

Is this car an 04' or an 05'? I figure an 05'? I will research this matter with the guys at work. Dusty knows alot about the car, he was telling me the other day that there were many changes made from the first to the second year. He might know something, I'll send him this thread's address.

Thanks dude. I just called Dodge. They've had the car for over a week, and still have no idea what's wrong with the car. The techs are working with the Chrysler Hotline cuz they're so confused. Apparantly, according to Chrysler, It's normal to find oil in the turbo. Chrysler also said its also normal for this oil to be clearly leaking out of the turbo.
I'm not even pissed anymore, i just want my car back. I'm gonna call back tomorow and ask if I can get a loaner car. maybe an SRT-10
