High School Student Auctions Prized Pig for Charity

“This is Waylon Klitzman. He will be a sophomore at Evansville High School and is a member of the Evansville 4H Club.  Today he will be donating the money from the sale of his pig to Beat Nb in honor of a little girl in his community named Harlow Phillips.  Harlow is currently being treated for neuroblastoma. She has had many treatments and has been in the hospital a lot in the last several months.  She is only 4 years old.  He wants to donate to Beat Nb to help find a cure for Harlow so she can just be a kid and not have to fight the beast anymore.”

After a round of applause and standing ovation, bidding started fast and before we knew it, the winning bid was made by E&D Water Works of Janesville at $11.50/lb!!  As the auctioneer congratulated the winner, the E&D representative donated the pig back to the sale to be sold AGAIN!!!  Waylon’s smile spread wide across his face.  INCREDIBLE!!  The bidding opened a second time and a second winner, Chambers and Owen, won the pig for another $10.25/lb and again…they donated the pig back to the sale!!!

Ex KKK Member Denounces Hate

“I said I was a grand dragon of the KKK, and then the Klan wasn’t hateful enough for me, so I decided to become a Nazi — and a lot of them, their jaws about hit the floor and their eyes got real big,” Parker recalls. “But after the service, not a single one of them had anything negative to say. They’re all coming up and hugging me and shaking my hand, you know, building me up instead of tearing me down.”
From there, the transformation sped up.
On July 21, wearing a different kind of robe, Parker waded into the Atlantic surrounded by members of that same church. McKinnon embraced him, and then dipped his head down into the water to baptize him...
He rose up, blinking and wiping water from his face, then walked toward a line of fellow congregants waiting for a hug.

Then this Monday, Parker took off his shirt at the Laser Skin Solutions tattoo-removal clinic in Jacksonville, revealing a swastika and the Klan symbol. On his left leg is a Confederate flag with the words “white pride” underneath.
The laser treatment was painful, but Parker wasn’t alone. Arno Michaelis, an author and a speaker who used to be part of the notoriously violent skinhead group Hammerskin Nation, was there to lend support. The treatment will take several more months.

Quite often teachers have to dip in their own pockets to buy necessities for their classrooms, but this year all 143 teachers in the Pendleton County school district were gifted $100 to use for supplies.

Delivery Man Uses 12-Pack to Save Suicidal Man

On Wednesday, two beer delivery men were just making the rounds when they saw a man hanging onto the outside of a fence around the corner...
For the next hour, the beer salesman made his pitch - even after police arrived.

"I could feel tension in the air; he was intimidated by white cops. I said my helper is an extremely intelligent guy, I said I think we can talk this guy off the ledge,” Gabel said.
After asking the man if he wanted to have a drink with him, Anderson ran to his truck and grabbed a 12-pack - and used it to lure him to safety.

Young Man Invents “Water You Can Eat” to Help Dementia Patients Like His Grandma Stay Hydrated

“For people with dementia the symptoms of dehydration are often mistakenly attributed to their underlying condition, meaning it can easily go unnoticed until it becomes life-threatening,” Hornby writes on his website. “About a year ago my grandma was unexpectedly rushed to hospital, she was found to be severely dehydrated. Thankfully, after 24 hours on IV fluids she was back to her normal happy self, and is still enjoying a good quality of life to this day.”

What Hornby came up with were Jelly Drops—brightly colored bite-sized balls of liquid that are easier to swallow than water but just as hydrating. The drops are made of 90 percent water with gelling agents and electrolytes to aid in hydration.
