The foot-lift-gate is finicky on our Odyssey too. Then wifey was showing me how to get it working consistently and promptly clocked me over the head with the lift gate...

Could not get it to work on my MIL's XC90 either. Gimmick is gimmick.

I forgot to mention that I found something on the Expedition that should be on all vehicles:
All doors have the smartkey feature, so the rear doors can unlock and lock. The Sportwagen's front two doors are the only doors with this feature; mildly annoying when you have a kid in a car seat now that I know other vehicles have it on all four doors.
So the hood, front fenders, and roof of my car have extreme clearcoat failure. Multiple faded sun spots on the roof. The hood and fenders have cracking/crows feet all over. Luckily this problem is covered by an extended paint warranty because Honda Canada doesn't know how to paint cars.
Unfortunately for me, the Honda body shop says corporate won't provide a rental car for the week my car will be in the shop. I plan to call Honda corp and bitch that this is my only car and I need to get to work. This is warranty work so I don't see how this is any different than say the Takata airbag recall where they are providing loaners.
If that doesn't work I'll be paying for a rental out of pocket. Any tips on finding deals on rental cars?

Priceline is sometimes the best deal, sometimes not. Dont be afraid to lowball and work your way up.
slickdeals.net travel forum for current promos (if any)
prepaid / no cancellation will save you a bunch.
last car I rented, hotwire was the cheapest, the time before that priceline was, the time before that an avis promo was the cheapest.

Check with your credit card to see if they offer any deals, too.
Or, take advantage and rent something fun from Touro, haha.

If you just need *car* Turo or a low budget rental company. Something like Triangle Motors in Frederick MD, not Budget or similar.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Wow that is cheap AF, but I have no way to get out to Frederick and really no desire to drive 45 minutes to pick up a crusty Honda.
How can they make any money renting a minivan for $250 a week AND giving you 500 free miles? These cars have to be so old.

Saw that and it did peak my curiosity. Trying to keep it under $50 a day so I will likely be going to whatever rental car place has the best deal. Everything under that price on Turo is typical camry/corolla it looks like.

They are that old. When Stef wrecked the Corolla we got a van from them (they gave it at the compact rate because it was all they had w/ an auto) for a week. It was a 7 or 8 year old Honda Oddesey w/ 100k miles and the CEL on. It drove. It was cheap. End of story.

Its not *that* cheap. Ive gotten real rental cars with unlimited miles for less than $20/day many times.
I have a weekend coming up in September that involves both a work retreat and a good friend's wedding. Figure it'll be fun to rent something cooler than a pickup truck for all of that, assuming I can keep it cheap enough.
Someone figure out what would be a fun highway car for ~500 miles of driving, that'd also look good, that's available from September 14-16.

If you want something cool look on Turo. There are plenty of enthusiast options. They aren't cheap though. Near me I saw multiple Tesla X, 3, & S models, a BMW M4 & M3, 2017 Zo6, BMW 6 series (4 door whatever model those are). I couldn't justify the prices for the 10 days I need a car, but for a fun weekend I might splurge.
