may have a motor for a GRM challenge car...

hey guys, a guy that i work with has two complete chevy 350 motors(unassembled) in his garage and he has been looking to get rid of them for awhlie...i forgot that he had them. pretty sure he is just going to give them away, he says that he has all the components to make two complete motors.

one of my other co-workers was looking to get them but keeps putting it off, was thinking that we could get the parts for one of the motors and store it somewhere and see if we could use it.

let me know what you guys think

sounds awesome. If nothing else, if we don't use it for the project, we could have an engine buildup so members of the club could learn how they work, and then sell it off to make $$ for the club after it is built.

not sure, but will find out (do know that he was using them in his race car or getting ready to put them in, which was a '78 monte carlo i believe)

no, no it isn't. The 350 has been around since the dawn of the automobile (exaggeration), but there are a shitload of iterations of it, so we do need to find out what kind before making any decisions.

Dad said 1955 was the first chevy small block. Which makes the design, um, 50 years old. Leaves alot of room for variation.

-one is a two bolt main, and the other is a four bolt main
-not sure on the years but i said that he thinks that one of them came out of 60's Monte Carlo?
-other than that i really dont know

i think this could be a good opportunity to make money for the club or have a decent motor for a challenge car, depending on what kind of shape/condition they are in i might keep one to maybe swap into my truck :twisted:

anyway, let me know what you guys would like to do...

Also, if we were to transport these to H'burg, where can we store them so members can go work on them?

ok sounds good, we'll have to get on the whole storage thing.

I doubt my roommates would like it, but my basement could prob store the engines. I'd really prefer another location though.

p.s.- I really wish I had a job like yours right now, Sears kicks ass.
