I've got a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT for sale (or rather the garage does). I figured someone on here might want it. It is emerald green with a black leather interior. It is a 3.0L V6 (non-turbo ) with a 5-speed. *157,000*(edit) miles, power everything. ItÔÇÖs a nice looking car for its age. It needs some minor body work on the driverÔÇÖs door and some paint on the tops. Nice project car for only $2500 OBO.

Also the buyer is looking at a bit of transmission work with shift bushings and maybe a clutch (at least I'm honest). Nice project car for only $2500 OBO.
Sounds pricey. 3KGT's are hellacious to work on, transmissions doubly so.

That doesn't seem like such a bad price... the kbb value on the car in "good" condition which it may not be in is over 3500 it seems, for fair it doesn't give a value... but average it around and you probably get about that price for the car... Only thing I know about them are they are pretty nice looking.. If only I had the money just laying around to drop on a car.

only thing i know about them is they're very high-tech (for their time) and they weigh 2 tons.

yeah, they're portly buggers and slow to boot (unless VR-4). Save yer $$ and get something worthwhile that you have a chance of wrenching on yourself.
Oh come on now, its not that bad. This one lacks some of the overly complicated BS. No tunable exhaust or any of that stuff. Also, it is right quick if you can get it in gear when you want it to (har). KBB gives dealer's retail price on the SL coupe...which is what it is...at 7,500. Also it gives a private party sale of $5000 when rated as good (I used the condition generator feature.) So take that for what you will, remember that KBB is always high, and remember we are looking for a best offer if $2500 is to rich for you. 222HP, 3200lbs (curb weight).
I'm gonna drive it all day today! lets see how she does.

That's a picture of a VR-4.
It was just the fact there was transmission work to be done on it that made me think the price was high. They're beautiful cars, but the engine is crammed in there, and the quad cam is really, really hard to work on. The single cam's aren't *as* bad, but they're only 180 horses.
If I were in the market, I'd probably pay around 1800. I mean hell, I can get a VR-4 for 3500. A thousand dollars for all wheel drive, 4WS, and two turbochargers.

Damn, where do you get the VR-4 for 3500? That sounds like something you can turn around and sell for a great deal more.

This car looks exactly like that, the same wheels, bodykit, fog lamps, everything. So I think you are wrong on that chief, unless the "VR-4 look-a-like" package was available, which I'm not saying it wasn't.
To correct a few points I made before...
This car has 157,000 miles on it. Also it needs no transmission work as far as I can tell. After driving it all day I've concluded that at the most it needs shift bushings, and definitely a short-throw Its fun as heck to drive, and it looks good in the driveway. In fact I am gazing at it right now. The steering is tight as hell too, quite a nice driver for the back roads.
Here are some 0-60 times... [EDIT, these are 1/4 mile times as T pointed out.]
1991 3000GT SL- 16.4sec.
1995 3000GT VR-4 - 13.5sec.

Oh by the way, when the 4WS and AWD systems start acting up then you get into some real money.

Where the fuck did you get those 0-60 times? They sound like 1/4 mile times....unless Mike did the driving?
A stock later gen VR-4 will do a mid 13 second 1/4 mile. That's at about 100 mph. So 0-100 in 13 seconds is about right...
Which means it will do 0-60 in 5 and a half....give or take a little.

SORRY!! Those came from a huge list and there were many columns and it covered tons of makes and models, I got in the wrong column. I should have known better! I did my own test and the SL did about a 9sec. 0-60...with my bad driving and a slight burnout. So, if I wouldn't have been stopped in the middle of the road fumbling with a stop watch it would have been better. I've been working on it all day cleaning, doing service, and toying around with it. But I can't buy it, is there anyone to give it a loving home? T?
