New Karting Place in NOVA
#1
Since most of us like karting and will be at least asking about it this next year, I might as well throw this out there. I don't know if anyone has talked about it but a new karting place is opening in mannassas in October so for those that want to change up from Richmond you can consider this now.

Interesting, looks like their track map and size scaled WAY back from what they posted up before.

Now it's gonna suck even more!

Before I even found the track map... $1500 per hour for track rental. Like thunderbolt, that is nearly double what gforce charges

I saw that the old summit point kart people may be moving out that way, too.

Summit Point Kart would be preferable, since electric karts blow.

Is that.... troll, opinion, fact?
FWIW the ones I tried (same as these) were freaking awesome *IF* the folks running the show let them run near 100%.

Difficult finding a video that isn't just some donkey with a gopro running the karts at 50% with his buddies... but here's a short one that shows an OTL kart at speed:

No, I'm not trolling. I've run the karts at autobahn's other place up near Baltimore.

I'm not sure why as a customer you would choose electric over gas, given both options. I can see why you would choose electric as a kart track owner.

Ok. What power level were they running them at?
Obviously they aren't yet a good choice for enduros, but 20HP, instant throttle response and ability to keep a level playing field more easily seemed like good things. They're heavier and I didn't get enough time in one to say if it was well balanced, but was certainly communicative and fun even at 75%. :dunno:
Hard to say since the track was so different but I'd put money on the OTL vs the 270cc super karts at G-force or VIR. You know... for like... 15 minutes.
