I think you're looking at this through the lens of poor people and android users. You need to let up off some of that cash bro, and go for it on something you really want!

What's the problem with just keeping this one and paying to repair a few things as they need repair post-CPO? I have to think that's cheaper in the long run versus paying registration/taxes on a newer vehicle again.

Then again, I'm poor and an iPhone user so I must be perpetually conflicted.

Drop unreliable expensive to fix German car and pick up unreliable expensive to fix American electric car? Seems legit.

He think it'll be cheaper.

Also, OR has no sales/use tax. Us on the other hand? We pay the full 9.5% sales tax on new cars. :vomit:

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Maybe you missed these parts?

"One of the cool things about this car is that when it does need to be serviced by a mechanic, a company rep comes with a trailer and picks it up, delivering it back when the work is done—all free."

"Under warranty, Tesla replaced the drive unit, which is essentially the car's entire drivetrain--motor, inverter, and gearbox."

"And in all cases, the drive units were replaced under warranty, and didn't cost the owner a cent."

Also, very much joking about getting one. I could get a couple of perfectly running A4s for parts and still come out ahead.

As Chris said, taxes are 0. Registration is minimal. Basically, no cost to change cars here.

By my estimation, the car has had a few thousand in repairs in the year I've had it. That's not going to fly, and it is fair to assume it's only going to get worse with years and miles.

WA is 6.5%; Seattle adds another 3% on top.
We have no state income tax, so it's pretty much a wash.

So this makes me feel a little better about the car: http://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/29/safe ... 011-study/. I'm almost guaranteed to not die in it. I take that with a grain of salt, but it's still pretty amazing.

All-Road might be tempting, but they start at 42k and for the amount we drive, that kind of payment makes no sense. Shit, the only car that really makes sense is a Jetta Sportwagen TDI (space, fuel economy, modern), but she demands those memory seats. Ugh.

Q5 also a possibility as I really liked the loaner I had.

CX5 can be had for low 20s nicely optioned now so that's in the running.

Hahahaha

Looked briefly at the SQ5, liked it better than the Macan and Evoque but at the end of the day my thought process was: If we're buying an "suv" we're doing it proper and decided on the Grand Cherokee for when Rachael's lease runs out.

Have you tried just making up a sticky note that indicates how many clicks forward or back each of your seating positions are? Just may work

Power seats, Ken. Please, like an Audi would have some sort of mechanism in which you had to exert real effort to move the seat

1) Any car with power seats should have power memory seats (and mirrors), no excuse. Our 14yr old BMW does, would be one of the features I'd miss on a lot of replacements we've considered.

2) That Tesla video was great. Yeah, get that!

So I guess you wouldn't understand how annoying it'd be to have to redo your seat every time you got into it.
