Crowdsourced design contest for Local Motors Sports Car
#1
The folks that made the badass crowdsourced Rally Fighter are now going to make a track car. Normally in contests like these, most of the entries are shit, but there is a ton of really cool concepts in there. Check it out.

saw that, though after Factory Five royally fucked up the 818 crowdsourced design contest, Ill wait until I see something in the metal before I get too interested.

I saw the $30k figure in there, is that for a completed car or is it a kit?

the quality of the entrees is pretty high overall compared to Factory Five. the 7500 dollarbucks prize purse for 1st helps. i'm sure half of every transportation design school in CA probably dropped a rendering into the hat!

it doesn't hurt that this uses an exoskeleton....lots of design potential with those features.

These concepts make me wanna hunker down and actually learn how to use some 3D modeling software. If only I could sleep 3 hours less per night and still be functional.

"functional" is a very debatable definition though....

Yeah for me I can perform basic functions when sleep deprived but my programming/art productivity falls of a cliff when I'm tired. I might need to get me a Red Bull IV drip.
