that's all, just didn't know that new body style was on sale yet. I think it was a rental! V6 too from what I can tell.  But it looked great IMHO. Even without the spoiler, extra headlights and smaller wheels. It's good to see that SOMEONE isn't ditching a heritage of classic design and function *cough* BMW *cough*
I really like the new design of the mustang. The old one was way tired and overused. The newer front end and rear end look great. The GT is supposed to be a great performer too, from the numbers I've been reading.

i'd seriously consider the new mustang if i was in the market for a sporty car. it looks awesome, has a new chassis, IRS, and that sweet V8. i hope ford keeps up the good work.

nope, no IRS. They ditched that. But it does have coil springs and a panhard rod, so at least they made it the best stick axle it can be!
I love the design they really did a good job with it. I just think it got a lot heavier.

PHEW..... I gave it a compliment. I said it was a move in the positive direction. It's a good car for 20-25k. Great value, especially the GT. If we're talking about pure speed, pure handling, the EVO RS would eat it up for only $1k more. For a mustang that looks and sounds awesome, and performs very well, it's a great deal. It's great for what it is.
I'm not bashing the mustang as it's a very capable car... it's not my favorite car in that price range, but it's a mustang that I've actually given a serious look into buying after I graduate. I ruled it out, but I still might drive it to give it a chance though. Weight, resale, and build quality have always been concerns of mine with stangs. I do have to admit that they look DAMN sexy though.
Jack, i agree with you in almost every way, but the Evo has a few flaws that would make me reconsider it if i was cross-shopping the stang. for one thing the evo has a record of a shitty OEM clutch, and i've read of transfer case failures as well. that's major stuff. also, its been reported that mitsu checks to see if you drive the car in a motorsport event, and if so your warranty is voided. i bet the new mustang build quality will continually improve, too.
there's really not much point to what i just wrote other than that the Evo isn't such a smoking deal in some respects compared to the new stang.

One thing I've always liked about the mustang, mods are relatively cheap. I didn't think so at first, but after looking at what subie and BMW guys are paying for similar things. Damn, the cost of my tires isn't so bad lol .
