An exact copy of the Ring to be build in VegASS?

Now don't get me wrong, I'd love for there to be a real road course near Vegas. But I think copying the Ring would be a stupid ass idea. Come up with your configuration and make it even better than the Ring. I don't think there is anyone who'd turn their nose up at a racetrack outside of Vegas because it doesn't have the same configuration as the Nurburgring.

I guess this irks me because Summit copied the bowl from Nurburgring on Shenandoah circuit. Yes, let's copy the worst turn from a famous racetrack because...I actually can't think of a good reason to do that :dunno:

Vegas is about pretending to be something you're not. I'm guessing the draw will be rich folk who want to drive a half dozen laps in a really overpriced rental in an effort to prove their baller status.

I'd rather that than Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Yeah, when I saw the whole idea I was thinking, that would be like calling up the French and trying to build a copy of the Eiffel tower-...oh wait.

I think building a track safer than the the Nurburgring would make them even more money. If you have rich guys driving in from LA afraid that they're gonna wad up their supercars, less of them are gonna want to drive there. On the other hand, maybe that would be a good thing, because then they'd need the money from filthy track day enthusiasts like us to stay afloat.

If Bruton Smith wants to actually do it, it'll get done for sure. He has the money, power, and people to make it happen. That being said, I think it is a stupid idea, but there are a ton of people who would probably pay to drive on it anyway, so it kind of makes sense in that regard.

I'd rather see him try to create and original track that could rival the best in Europe.

We'll have to be the first guys to go do that before rental car companies catch on to all the wadded up Mustangs.

Yeah, the rental guys are shady as shit there though.

I rented an A/C cobra (that was a pile of shit with 3 different tire brands, and major misfires on the driver's side bank. Still was one of the most fun cars ive ever driven. I would have died though trying the nurburgring in that POS! Not sure any of their cars were in THAT much better condition.

I'm thinking if they build a track like that in Vegas that some track rental companies will sprout up. Maybe rent some more attainable cars for cheaper prices like the Toyobaru, Mustangs, Miatas, etc. Maybe we could put together a MM VegASS trip.

I'd be down too. Guns, gambling, girls, go-karts, what's not to love? If we were to do a trip like this, what time of year would you want to do it? Spring or Fall?

Yeah I was falling asleep at the breakfast table at Vegas on the third day on one trip to Vegas. If we do this we'll have to do all the driving/riding on the first 2 days.
