I dont want to hear anything about the slush box. It will be swapped later down the line when a 1.8t goes in there. As far as its current state, the 3 speed auto mated to the 1.7l is still faster than most 100-125hp cars that are produced currently.

And the pictures of the toys? Theyre in my living room but I havent taken pictures yet. heres what arrived yesterday:

Polyeurethane Control Arm Bushings
New control arms
New Ball joints
New front ATE calipers
New ATE Powerslot rotors
Mintex Red box pads
Rubber valve cover gasket update kit

more will be on its way soon, the next 2 areas are the rear brakes and the suspension setup, then the car will be perfect.

Thats what Im saying lol, any imperfection you can see in those pictures is either residual wax, or bird doo doo, there isnt a door ding on the car... NOT ONE! Confused

no sunroof and 2 doors ( good canidate for a lightweight car)

id pimp it just how it is AUTO and all.. its pimp.. and it will never break. Im actually looking for a bone stock diesel rabbit just to drive and get like 50 mpg. gas is killin me these days.

HERES MY RABBIT PIC

27,000 miles, bone stock, I made a deal for 2100 with 'mushy' brakes that were to be bled when I got there.

Flew into OH, and pull off the wheel, from sitting for so long under a car cover the little tiny 8mm bleeder valve screws were rusted entirely through. No bleeding happening anytime soon. I undid the lines and drip bled the lines best I could, and was pretty pissed about the situation, but it wasnt anyones fault.
I told him Id give him 1700 since I would put all brand new equipment on the front including all the parts I listed that just came in the mail. He asked if Id do 1800. I said fine. So I came out ahead because for 2150 I got the rabbit and its got entirely new front brakes/control arms/bushings/and a new updated VC gasket now.

The auto is suprisingly fast and the car runs like it just came off the VW lot. Its amazing. I got 37mpg and that was in the PA mountains for much of the trip. And its an automatic! Confused

Normally there would be no way Id pay 1800 for an 81 rabbit, but because of the mileage and the condition, there really was no way I could pass it up. I could get a solid but raggedy rabbit for 800-1000, but the work required to get it to the caliber this one is already at mechanically and aesthetically, I would be well over 3,000, WELL over that.

get some bad ass coilovers and bad ass wheels and PIMP it .. slow and stock.. thats the only way to go and stay reliable

basically perfect. It was sprayed with some sort of steelshield rust proofing crap and undercarriage looks like it just rolled off the factory floor, theres a small spot on the front rocker where someone jacked it up wrong to change a flat and so a size of about a quarter will need to be patched and the same with the pass side rear. 2 small small small spots, not holes, but most likely not sandable. In terms of the undercoating though its perfect. I put the first small flaw in the undercoating when leaving it up on jack stands this weekend Big Grin

I cant wait to get pics up, the front brake setup and the POR-15 coating everything = STRAIGHT BLINGIN!
