fuck... now i don't want to buy navin's motor... reminds me how unsafe a 2000lb car is when 4000lb behemoths are piloted by drunks, women, and idiots.

edit: i didn't make much sense there.. i have the option of a new motor or a safer car right now.... i think safer car just won me over.

On a side note it makes me sick to see so many people wish death on the other driver (ignoring the fact that he actually did die). Death should never be wished on anyone IMO.

but yeah, it made me rethink buying another hatchcrap. I ALMOST want to just take the hit and get a TSX or something with side airbags, etc..

fwiw, it also nearly impossible to get a decent loan on a car older than 5 years... before even looking at my credit the loaners (bank and credit union) said the best they could do on an 8 year old car is 24 months...

hah, sucks to be you. The supra was 8 years old when I got the initial loan, and 9 years old when I refinanced it. Both were for 3 years and I didn't even have a credit history at all when I got the first loan.

I got a loan on the Z (24 months at 5.25%). Could've gone out to 48 @ ~6% if I wanted. Of course, it (or the Lightning - haven't decided quite yet) will be paid off as soon as the check from the VW clears.
