I don't know anything about BMW's, but $1000 seems like a steal, even without an engine lol. Welcome to the boards.

Yes, the car is in great condition at 110K miles. Got the 60K used engine out of a wrecked 330i.
The previous owner had gone through a string of lots of expensive repairs over the past two years and a cracked coolant tank and busted engine pretty much took the cake for her and she was ready to leave it abandoned in the work parking garage.
She was asking 2K, I offered 1K on the spot and she took it and handed me the keys and title.
I found the used engine and a guy to put it in. Then I've fixed all the cosmetic things as well, new window regulator on one window (what a pain), new floor mats, new tires, and a few other things here and there.
After I get the ding depot paintless ding / dent repair to fix a few dings the car will pretty much be back to showroom condition.
You'd never know it's not the original engine, either.
that's awesome! can't beat that depreciation.
what happened to the original engine, do you know? i had thought they were pretty hard to kill, especially at only 110k.

Cracked coolant tank = overheating. The thing that destroys bmw engines more than anything is overheating. All the plastics in the cooling system stock like to explode, replace them immediately.
