Tell me why I shouldn't get a

pair of racing seats. Or better yet, tell me which ones I should get.

I'm not looking for the hardcore kind that will be a pain to sit in for long periods of time...I'd driven 40k miles in the last 20 months and this is still my daily driver. Try not to get me to spend over a 1k. Reclinable preffered. Not that I know much of anything, but the sparco torino's look nice and might be in my range.

ps - oh yeah, they really need to be available in black and blue. I'm not laying down big money for something that can't match my future paint scheme.

are you planning on getting a roll bar?

do seats really help a lot in drag racing (or do you plan on an HPDE)?

You would be surprised how comfy a good set of fixed back buckets are, even over long distances.
Personally I wouldnt waste a lot of money on a set of seats that is really only marginally better than an OE seat.
So I would recommend at least giving a set of Sparco Pro2000s or EVO2s a sit.

another idea would be the OE seats out of an Evo. When I instructed in an EVO, I was pretty impressed with the seat for a reclineable. And those are Black and blue IIRC. Not sure how much they go for , but if they are significantly less than the sparcos then might be a good deal

with black kidney pads...

I think this is a good idea, too. The seats in an S13 SUCK BALLS. I hated them. You slid around, they had no back support, very poor leg support, they were just awful.

S14 seats, on the other hand, are very comfortable and supportive. Skyline seats even more so. So I got a pair. They weren't that expensive. You could probably even pick up a set from Japanland, though considering the seat would be different for you (passenger vs driver) it might be a cheaper route than a really nice, comfortable racing bucket.

Yeah, cost really is the problem. And I was looking over my future money forecast and it looks like the seats are still a long way off. Got 3 big ticket items I'm going to be trying to purchase in the next few months, and all of them are about making the power, not the bling.

As for the Evo stock seats, yeah they are nice. My boy's got them and I keep trying to make him trade me, but no go. The sparcos you posted up are exactly the kind of thing I want. Just got to wait on them.
