DCSportbikes.net Track Day Cornerworkers

Hey everyone!

I'm a '01 JMU grad and a member of the DCSportbikes.net community. Since spring is rolling around we are all itching to get some serious riding in. Unlike you cagers we don't have the luxury of riding year round...well...at least us sane ones.

We decided that we're going to rent out Summit sometime in the next couple months and we're going to need cornerworkers for the day. I don't know if you guys like to be paid for something like that or if you do it "for the love."

I'll check back at you all later with more info as the plan develops. Please leave me some feedback.

We would love to flag, I just have to discuss payment or whatnot with the other officers. Let us know the date asap so we can be sure it doesn't conflict with other events.

On a side note, if you could help spread the word of our car show to the DCSportbikes.net community, that would be awesome. I can give you a write-up on the show you can copy and paste on anothe forum. The JMU bike club will be coming out to show their bikes, and I'm sure they would love to have some other bike clubs out there.

Most of the people on the site are NoVa people, so I don't know how often they'll come down, but there are 3 or so of us down here in the h'burg.

Anyway, I'd be interested in flagging a bike track event. I'm actually thinking about doing track stuff with bikes in 05 maybe but that depends on where the race program goes...

Well there are a ton of race organizations out now: NESBA, Team Pro Motion...

The .net has been leaning towards Team Pro Motion lately, because NESBA tries to fit too many bikes into a session. I'm starting out racing this year with them. Should be an interesting year.

Wait so are you racing wheel to wheel or doing open track days next year?

Open track days. If all goes well and I really really like it, I may start actually racing. It's a lot of money to get into something like that, but who knows what will happen.

*edit* well if i just wanted to run stock it's not expensive..just tires.

Even though there is very little in racing that can be considered cheap, racing bikes is certainly a whole lot cheaper than racing cars (except for the medical bills but you have insurance right?).

I don't know how the go fast crack pipe is for you bike guys but I've gotta imagine its similarly addictive. I'd put my money on you liking open tracking and being tempted to race if it doesn't scare you too much

Ha ha...the crack is as addictive as you think. I gaurantee it.

I may have to find out more about this JMU bike club and see if I can get them hooked on the DCSB.net.

Speaking of race bikes, have you ever checked the classifieds on wera.com or amasuperbike.com? Man there are some tempting propositions on there...

No I've never looked. Racing really isn't my thing yet. I just want open tracks. Though I think that if it really hooked me I could dedicate some time and money to racing with sponsors.

Though I don't think I could ever give up riding 33 and 211. They're just too much fun.

They had a spot at both student org nights this year, but didnt show up to the spring one. Apperently some alumni guys actually recognized the JMU bike club at the begining of this year and the guys who are students here just found out about that. So theyre still a wee bit unorginized (wee bit = completely)
