My girlfriend has a civic hybrid (believe the curb weight is over 5k lbs o.O) and she rarely sees under 40mpg even with all city driving. But then again my CRX would stomp her car in a race :-D ROFL
First of all, I didn't realize there was someone else on the forum with a crx?!?! I forgot about the d15b6 too  And how are you getting 50mpg with an si transmission?

Kind of neat such "outdated" tech won the x-prize

Hell, Pete could have made that thing :dunno:

The guys who built the Edison2 are from Charlottesville but they set up shop in Lynchburg because it was a lot cheaper and easier to deal with the local government there. VA represent!

One of the past Super Cup champions and our mechanic for the National Championships is the crew chief for the team. They actually entered four cars in the competition and pretty much whored all the other entries.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
I was watching the show that covered the event last night. There was a high school team from West Philly that made it pretty far but were booted for only getting 87MPGe out of there Focus.

I'm only guessing it's an si transmission(was also told it was an si tranny), I tach around 3k @ 70mph in 5th gear and I think thats what my buddies si tachd at that speed. When I saw the 50-52mpgs it was 100% highway (40psi in tyres), so the only acceleration I did was from the gas station back onto the interstate. Also, I drive like a granny and shift around 3k when im driving normally because thats the real reason I have this car is for the stellar gas mileage. The d15b combined with the lightweight doesnt require much throttle to get goin and I use as little as possible. Its been 40k+ since I've changed the plugs and I've never changed the wires so the best highway mileage i've seen in the past month was around 45mpg. My plans for this car are to make it track ready once I have a real DD, and I think the d15b will have to go, but I havent decided on a powerplant yet, and only know that I want something with LSD but cage/seats/harnesses will be first

My STi makes a great DD and is a lot cheaper than a brand new one, which gives you more money for roll bar, seats and harnesses...

Nope, I refuse to take pics of this car because it is the most god awful lime green color i've ever seen LOL. Also has those stupid fiberglass fenders with the holes that look like the vettes >.<. Car came that way and I actually was able to talk the price down because of the rice. Before it sees a track it will have some stock fenders and a fresh coat of flat black indoor+outdoor spray paint

, prolly needs wider rims as well as I'm currently rolling on stock del sol wheels . Yes Maeng I know stop reminding me of the outrageous price I'm paying for a silly warranty >.<
