mine would be cheap since i have a clean record, but why deal with it? our agent is well-aware of the situation (i havent lived with them in ~10 years), and is just happy to have me as a customer.

Just re-negoicated my insurance with Nationwide and got it down to $441.60 for 6 months. All I had to give up was accident forgiveness under $400 (because seriously, what damage could I do to a vette that would be less than $400?) Nothing else changed. 25 years old, 2002 corvette, 2 tickets, 2 accidents.

thought i'd post up an update since the acquisition of the new car and sale of the truck:
2010 VW Gti - USAA insurance with Full Coverage 50k/100k/300k (property/per person/per accident) with $500 deductible and insured under a Falls Church, VA address
$468.64 per 6-month term after discounts
total discounts: $214.77 per 6-month term
daytime running lights, new vehicle, premier driver (good driving history and claim history), vehicle experience (safety features), payment history, multiple USAA products, length of USAA membership (10 years)
Driver history in last 5 years: no moving violations ( ::knocksonwood:: ), 2 > $1500 claims (only one with USAA)
USAA sure takes care of its customers. I wish one of my parents was in the service. My brother is about to commission into the Air Force and has a 2006 Hybrid Civic on a USAA policy, his premium is cheaper than my car alone on a joint married policy with a credit union membership and a homeowner's insurance policy.
I can't have it all though. I got a house, I can deal with high car insurance costs.
JRay, have you started a picture thread on the GTI? I would like to see pics.

i agree with your feelings toward USAA - i'm VERY happy with their service and their price. i'm surprised it's that low considering it's a brand new vehicle.
we just got our insurance quote back for our new location in chapel hill and its going to drop our rates considerably. we're now at $555 per 6/mo for the Xterra and 2.5RS combined with full coverage and $250 deductible, through Allstate.
the day we got our quote my next door neighbor got centerpunched in the driver's side door

Man. I must be getting ripped off or something. I have the same plan as you, and mine is 960/6 months for the malibu, monte carlo, and bike. Was yours for all the vehicles in your signature?

Just the Legacy. The 944 is a title-less race car and the motorcycles are on a different policy. I they're like $300 every 6 months combined.
I have the benefit of being in my 30s, married, having homeowners, multi-car discount (my wife's car; not included in that price) and a very high credit rating. YMMV

i'd say when you add the motorcycle to the policy, that sounds about right. my motorcycle policy (when i had it) was close to $660/ 6-month term with a $500 deductible and comprehensive coverage. it was on a seperate policy and it definitely sucks having a sport bike, but it paid off when i had to file my claim...
