Looking for work? Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes Harrisonburg VA
#1
MMsports guys/gals... my name is Greg Shaffer and i am the owner of Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes in Harrisonburg... i think most of you in the Harrisonburg area are fairly aware of our business of selling, servicing BMWs and other german makes. you can visit us at: midatlanticmotorwerkes(dot)com

I'm reaching out to you guys first because i am familiar w/ your orginization and i have spent a few evenings speaking at your meetings in the past in regards to road racing. As some of you know, we are not only engaged in the sale of pre-owned BMWS, but also have a full service/parts shop on site and most of what i do, personally, is campaign several BMW racecars from everything from NASA to Grand-Am.

I have an opening coming up immediately where we are going to hire a new person to our staff... this job would entail a job description as follows: front desk agent, lot attendent, customer service, sales assistant, scheduling service appointments, car delivery assistance, etc. etc. We are looking, primarily, for someone who can work upwards of 20+ hours per week (during our business hours of 10-6pm Mon-Friday) and SATURDAYS are a MUST for at least 3 out of the 4 Saturdays per month. (hours on Sat are 10-6). We are looking for someone that carries themselves in a professional manner, is good at talking w/ our clientel, can talk about options of the cars we sell (mainly BMW) (and training is provided), can be dependable/honest/trustworthy to the point of holding a key to the dealership to open/close on Saturdays.

I am looking for someone that fits in most importantly... YES, we do race cars as part of our business model, but this job is not about racecars, it's about the day to day operation of sales and service, etc. Knowledge base of BMW is a preferred skill, but will certainly not have a problem with training in that category if i can find the right person who simply fits the mold well. I am also looking for someone who will be sticking around Harrisonburg once JMU is out of session and living in the area throughout the summer months as well (THIS IS MANDATORY). There will be flexibility in the Mon-Fri scheduling w/ Saturdays being very structured around 3 weekends per month. There will be a base hourly pay and certain incentives set up for the sale of a auto on our lot as well.

I'm not on this forum much at all, so if you can, contact me direct at: greg@midatlanticmotorwerkes.com to move forward w/ discussions... if you have previous dealership experience, that is great, but a good, responsible "people person" who is clean cut and organized could certainly fit the bill as well!

Thanks much and look forward to hearing from anyone that is qualified for our operation.

Also, we will be racing at VIR at the end of March w/ NASA group.

If anyone that is interested is going to be down at VIR for this NASA event, i will be located in one of the garage spaces during the entire weekend. Friday will be tough to meet up as i will be doing extensive testing in a Grand Am car and working with some engineers on data, so pretty tied up. BUT, i will be very available on both Sat and Sun to meet up w/ you. When you get to the garage area, look for our #06 BMW and a VW R32 racecar.. that is where i will be situated.

Also, if the weather is looking good, i will be hosting a keg party for Saturday night immediately after the Awards Presentation AT OUR GARAGE LOCATION, so feel free to come by and grab a cold beverage and say hello. Bring your friends, crew, etc.... again, "IF" the weather is nice, so listen for Chris Cobetto to announce this during Friday/Saturday as to whether this will be going on or not.

Wow awesome opportunity for a current student if you work out your school schedule so you can basically take night classes (I did not mind later classes...)
