I know it all too well...

I'm going to be happy I coughed up the extra $ for dunlop star specs if it does rain, though standing around in a parking lot wet is never fun.

Some of the entries aren't showing up... Ray has posted the full list on the BRR forums. Chad, DJ, and Kyle are all on the full list. If you registered, it should have gone through. Check with Ray if you're not sure.

I'm headed down Saturday morning really early. I have never owned new r's before, do I just break them in by running them all day, or do I need to do something else? I chose to not have them cycled by tirerack.

There is discussion about break-in but most people just go out there and they break in by doing the heat cycles. Ive heard your supposed to break em in one day, and then let em sit for a week. But most people dont do that. I just say go break em in! Im 99% headed down Friday, altho I dont want to miss friday night in NOVA, I dont think there is any way I can make it in time saturday morning if I do. Hmm, maybe need to leave work early today and at least swap to my track wheels, dont think ill have time to switch to my autox pads and throw in the roll bar, seats and harnesses.

It depends what kind you have. Hoosiers don't need to be heat cycled. You just ride around for 5-10 minutes to knock the new off of 'em and you're ready to go. Kumho's on the other hand do benefit from a heat cycle before you run them in anger. What I do is drive them at freeway speeds for 20 -30 minutes to get them at least warm to the touch. Then you take them off the car and let them sit with no weight on them for at least 24 hours. Not to get into an organic chemistry lesson, but the heat cycling helps the rubber molecules crosslink, which results a stronger more consistent tire.

My brother did the same thing with his Kumho's last week, took'em out for a drive till they got hot and soft and pulled them off.

Just a note, for all the p*ssies scared of rain, less than 20% chance on sunday evening

I was wondering who that random BMW was with the Unknown. Looks like you slotted in between Adam & Chris.

Apologies for the shaky on-car mount. Not sure why it's that bad, but at least you can see, sort of.
