Chan, the white one is sans airbag, i gotta have that for a DD.

i like the simplicity and light weight of the Ti but after talking with the wifey it may end up being a sedan/coupe for teh babiez ( i just want a dog, but we gotta think a couple years ahead here  Confusedhock: ). the Ti's are dirt cheap as well but its not like regular E36's aren't coming down either.

You can get a really nice E36 sedan or coupe 93-95 for 3-4 with over 100k, less than 100k your looking at 4-6 for a 328i with around 80-120k miles.

Scotty, you may as well just give in and spend a few g's over your Subie sale and buy an E36 M3. All the cool kids are doing it, and its best to not go against the laws of MM car-buying groupthink. Doing so could cause dangerous seismic activity in your area.

i had chipotle last night and it had the same effect, so i'm not worried

also, hatchies rule and i've always wanted one. but, i've wanted RWD more. so this way, i could potentially have both.

psh, put an airbag wheel back in it. Heck, maybe I'll trade you wheels. Or go get one from Strictly German. Get some seats for me while you're there.

Ti seats fold down and provide an even nicer space for a dog than the sedan, you could put a rubber mat down and let him run around.

Baby seat (really? You better move back to roanoke too  ) fits fine, it actually works pretty well. Forward facing. I must be honest, a rear facing infant seat would suck getting in and out of there, I imagine similar issues as we had with the mini... and you notice we sold that. But whatever, don't plan too far ahead for cars, just sell it to me in a... year? Two? Three? Tell us. :vomit:

airbags scare the hell out of me. i don't want to be installing it and get blasted in the face, and noting my past wrenching prowess that means i'd have to find someone to do it...bleh, just another thing to think about.

one wall i've been hitting is crash test data. no, i don't care that much, but the mrs. does, and its hard to say how these things do. we've come to the realization that the xterra will be the car we carry little people in down the road (its higher so its easier to load as well which Jen is big on) so the loading unloading aspect isn't so crucial here. but if she's out of town and i have to carry dogs/kids in the Ti it would be nice to know we'd do ok from a hit, especially in the rear where there's less metal.

i'm not that big on planning ahead but i'd like to settle on a platform for a bit. that's another reason i like the E36...there's so much you can do and so much room to grow.

i manhandle the shit out of my airbag at least once a year... they're not too finicky.

in fact, i always forget to disconnect my battery... that's probably a little stupid.

airbags are fine. disconnect battery, plug it in, do some sort of ecu reset voodoo, and good to go. they dont blow up on their own.

alright, well thanks for making me less nervous. hopefully you won't see another picture of an airbag being launched into a field a-la the shock absorber debacle.

I replaced the wheel on the Miata and had to remove the bag to do it. It was terrifying the first round, but I just disconnected the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes or so, unplugged and all was well. Same for plugging it back in; if the battery has been disconnected you should be OK.
