just read about this on rally americas website, racing WRC with a focus and Rally America with the new fiesta. Anyone know if ford will be offering the fiesta as a turbo awd? If so got any websites on specs?

I doubt it, would cannibalize mustang sales.

I know there's going to be an ecoboost dsg focus, but I don't know jack about the fiesta.

Also, dave, I don't think the people who would be buying a turbo AWD fiesta are in the market for a Mustang. Just saying...

there is no Fiesta turbo/awd afaik.
Most manufacturers do not offer a turbo/awd version of the WRC car, just a mass market fwd/slow car.

the fiesta will be his Rally America car. Im not positive on Rally America open class rules but the only open class cars i saw at this summers rally were STIs and EVOs, so i simply assumed you had to use a layout offered to the public. Itd be nice to see another manufacturer with a turbo awd offering.

Yeah, I don't think anyone who really wants a Mustang is going to go for a fiesta, no matter how awesome or inexpensive it may be. But from what I have read, there was an SVT ZX2 designed, but it was faster than a mustang gt at the time, with 180 hp/turbo, so it got axed, not so much of mustang owners that would be sway, but its kind of hard to get other people who just want a fast car to go the the flagship when its beat by a fwd turbo ugly thing.

I guess cannibalize was the wrong term, but this is basically what I was saying. Why would people buy a Mustang when you can look down the line and get an econobox that is faster and more economical? Guess what I'm saying is that I can't see Ford offering a car in America that will make people second-guess thier flagship pony car.

Being a HUGE Mustang fanboi, if I was in the market for a new Mustang only a new Mustang would do. Turbocharged four cylinders don't make the right noises.............or low end torque.

I definitely agree. I mean, like I said, mustang people are going to buy mustangs for sure, but ford already faces enough competition from rival car manufacturers that they're not stupid enough to compete against themselves.
