From what I've heard, the book is actually quite good. It's not about racing though, in the sense of being something like Days of Thunder or something, so don't expect that.

I've read it, its phenomenal. Its a true story (from what I hear) about these god awful things that happen to this race car driver, and his dog and racing philosophies get him through. Which makes sense, because dogs and race cars (and beer) are the most wholesome, holy things on this planet.

I'll go see it.

i enjoyed the book alot, and was actually pretty happy that it wasn't just about racing, its about the bigger picture in life. if the movie stayed pretty true to the book and they develop the characters right (the dog especially) i'd see it.

Whats really going to be interesting is seeing how they translate the dog's point of view onto the screen, considering the way the book was written.

I loved this book. I read it in I think in 3 days just reading at night before bed. I couldn't put it down. I hope they do a good job with the movie.

FYI, Book author will be at "Books and Crannies" in Middleburg Apr 17 2-4 (maybe 12-2) call if you really need to know. I've started and stopped the book a couple times now...I like it so far but I need to commit time to it.
