Well... hello everybody!
We're back online now after a long day of updating, coding, testing, eating, and fixing things. This is all a learning process for me, so even though everything looks to be working nicely now, don't pour on too much Haterade if something doesn't quite work yet.
There are still some features I want to implement, but the biggest hurdles (implementing WordPress and updating phpBB) are complete. I've tested things on multiple browsers on both Mac OS X and Windows XP / 7. There are a few tiny issues with the site and I.E. 7/8 on Windows. Solution for now is called Firefox. It's all visual quibbles, so functionality isn't impacted if your hand is forced to use IE.
The forum (obviously) has been re-skinned in an attempt of working better with the new look. Yep, buttah is gone for now. If someone misses it dearly, I would happily install a BB3 version of our old skin. It won't convert by itself, and I don't have the time to re-create it 100%. Also, if anyone has suggestions for the current theme, please let me know.
I'm open to suggestions. Most things are very easy to change - I just have to work around my "real job" schedule.
I've been on my laptop since 3 PM today. Bedtime for now... and I'll be gone at Busch Gardens tomorrow. Post up impressions, comments, qualms, great-hate (just kidding plz), love, goodness in here and I'll get back to y'all tomorrow night sometime.
Enjoy MM '09!!

Jake, it looks great!
Is the forum also being hosted elsewhere so it doesn't get all goobered up?
Good job and thanks for your hard work.

great work on all this! seriously, really good job.
my only comment would be is that the forum gray is way too light. i'm having a hard time seeing breaks between posts and such.
ohoh, i also don't like avatars being on the right side.

great job!
i actually like the avatars on the right hand side, it provides a different aspect of a forum that i haven't really seen elsewhere.
thanks man!

I see what you mean about the grays. Would you suggest I make the gray of each post darker, or the gray behind the posts? I'm thinking the gray behind the posts could be darker and that would help.
Avatars on the right... I'm not sure how I feel about those yet. I'm sure I could modify the theme if we want them on the left, it was just something I didn't have time to mess with last night. I'll wait to get a few more opinions before screwing with it.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I appreciate it!

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
OH GOD CHANGE! NO NOT CHANGE! MAKE IT STOP!
Actually, I dislike that it's not obvious to me when one post ends and when one starts during fast scrolling. The white / uber light pink are too close together for my taste. That's my only complaint so far.
(edit: I'm not one for giving compliments, just complaining, so I guess the fact that there's only one 'complaint' is a compliment :-) )

I think I agree with this... although they're both shades of gray.
I think just going one shade darker on the light gray and two shades darker on the dark should cut it.

Wow, my monitor is that shitty?
I like the new design, looks really good! I just have the same two suggestions as most everyone else, darken up the gray and put the avatars back on the left. Otherwise it's great work!!

First and foremost, you did an awesome job and we all really appreciate your proactive attack on making these changes and spending so much time on this. Great work dude!
I'm not sure what I think about the avatars on the right. I'm with JayRay that it's different and therefore kinda cool, but it will definitely take some getting used to.
The only complaint that I have is that it's all so...white. As noted above, it's hard to distinguish between posts by different people, and if you quote somebody's prior post it also just looks kinda jumbled in there. Can we make it so that the background of each individual's post alternates and maybe give a significantly dark/different color to any quoted material?
Again, awesome job and thanks!!!
Did we do away with the google ads bar that was below the banner? It didn't net us a lot of money but we got a check for a little money from them on ocassion.

![[Image: mm.jpg]](http://derecola.com/storage/mm.jpg) Wow, it's not rendering that way on my computer at all - WinXp SP3 / Firefox 3.0.10.
I guess it isn't my monitor then if your JPG looks entirely different the webpage it's rendering on within my display.

The JPG is my suggestion for a change. The original colors are MUCH lighter.

My vote is to make the text black. Grey text just makes the posts less readable.
I'd also say move the avatar to the left so you can see who wrote the post before you start reading it.
