I didn't mention it earlier, but there are a number of summer events as well, such as Hyperfest. I'm also looking out for track rentals of MIR (drag racing) that other larger clubs/forums organize, that we could participate in if there is interest in that.

Its funny. I met this kid from DC. (friend of a really good friend). Anyways we got to talking about cars and his dad has bought two ferraris from there. And he was like telling me to find some salesman and mention his dads name and i could get the hookup (dont know what that means exactly?? free ride??). But anyways theres my terrible story.

I didnt believe him so I verified it with my friend. His dad really is fucking loaded beyond imagination. Kind of cool I guess? He told me if I ever want a ride in one drive down to his house and his dad will let us take one out.

Only if Im driving. 8)

Ferrari of Washington is under new ownership and making a bunch of employee changes. From everything I have heard new management is not doing the best job at keeping old contacts-- Goodspeed, might be good to double check everyone you have talked with there and make sure we are still welcome!

Yep, I browsed their site earlier; it doesn't look like Redding is still there. The head mechanic that showed us around the shop area appears to still be there however. Their website describes themselves as a group of enthusiasts, so we at least have something in common Smile

Thanks for posting that up. Its unfortunate that there are only two Verona events. FOW is up in the air with the new ownership and current staff from my conversations with them, so some re-organizing might happen.

Kyle, the TOD event...not sure. I think thats best done during the spring/summer/fall, with fall perhaps the best option...

Yea its a few miles from Radford. There is a 1/8th mile drag strip that is very very nice and a ~3/8th mile circle track. I'm assuming the autox will be a mix of the track and infield maybe?

See above for revised schedule. FOW won't be able to happen this spring after talking to the GM this morning, we are welcome but their schedule and ours won't allow a spring visit; hopefully in the fall. Verona auto-x is a must-do and is now part of our schedule! Karting bumped back to April.

If the schedule works, I might be in for this as well. Much to the chagrin of Goodspeed...

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
