with 0 downpayment on a 60/mo loan that can be less than $400/mo... not exactly bank-breaking.

Hey, thanks for the nice words, guys. I really appreciate it.
It's not that I don't want to come to meetings, it's that both this semester and the last, the meeting times are almost identical to my weekly 2 hour meetings. I have basically every night free but Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30. But I'm going to try to stay active on here and come to events at other times.
Blair, I came by today to drop off the DVD, but noone was home. I'll stop back by again after class. Thanks for loaning it.
its all good man...i wasnt trying to give you a hard time.. im home for the weekend so return it whenever... i totally forgot about that DVD untill i saw this post...just as long as you still got it and plan to return it its all good.

who's in college? oh... that's right.
Jack, you can make 200/month just selling your plasma... then you can sell other fluids for even more... throw in a kidney or two and you're set for a few years.

geez? so all I have to do is mortgage my life, and I get a beast M3?!?!
alright, joking aside, I think it's awesome that some people can afford a car like that in college because of the amount of extracurricular work they do. I respect people like that immensly. I also have no problem with people getting cars like that from their parents if they appreciate it. That's great if you got it.
If you are given that kind of car in college, what do you have to look forward to when you are on your own. I know that a typical entry level job in NOVA will not allow me to get a BMW, because the cost of living is so high there.

thats why you rock the car you were given until you CAN afford what you want, despite what ppl say and do, you are not required to blow half your first years pay on a new M3 or other assorted hottness

I would love to live somewhere else after college, and get a decent amount of money, but then my expenses would be all my own. If I move back in with my parents I will only have to pay a nominal rent fee.

Cost of car = 12 (months) x 400 (payments) = 4800
Summer earning = 40 (hours) x 10 (an hour, conservative) x 12 (weeks, conservative) = 4800
AND
you can get a job during the school year and winter break. better yet (kind of), take a loan like Dave did.

Nothing ever goes according to plan. Atleast for me, whenever i plan to put a good two or three months of work in over the summer something always comes up family wise. Not to mention throw in the cost of living down here and paying for stuff like books/clothes/food etc....A big chunk of that 4800 goes away
