John Kerry comes to the podium at the DNC to commence his nomination acceptance speech and waits for the clapping to dissipate, and then says "I'M JOHN KERRY, REPORTING FOR DUTY."

This was funny because he was totally against the war when he returned from Viet Nam while he emphasizes his military service as the whole basis for his campaign.

I hoped it to just be a cool picture... but....

yes, he protested after he came back. You can't criticize him for doing that. When the country was founded, they wanted people to be able to speak their minds. He went to war... unlike some candidates.... and came back informed, a decorated war hero, and decided to speak out against why we were there. I'd much rather have a president that had that experience, rather than one who had no experience with war, or foreign affairs in general.

i think the issues surround kerry's and bush's service are moot points. bush was in the services long enough to learn to fly a plane. that doesnt happen over night. kerry was in a war where bullets flew by and in real danger. both are very honorable and frankly i'm tired of all this controversy on some shit that happened like 30 years ago.
