i've taken a new approach to buying things/hiring people to do work... my free time is at a serious premium these days w/ training and taking classes on top of regular work... if i can pay someone to to just as good a job (and in this case, better) than what i could do, i'll pay them to do it.

i figure building my own would take a couple hours of research, another hour or so of buying parts, and then maybe 3 hours of fabrication? easily a 6 hour project... my time is worth more than $99/6 per hour.

edit: not to mention dealing with shipping on a bunch of small items... ungh!

no, i'd consider a headphone amp to be "finer" thing.

$16.50 an hour is a little low.

sure there is the time thing (personally I enjoy it)
but $100 for a cmoy amp is retarded.

buy a real headphone amp for that much.

the pocket sized one i bought has a bypass switch on it so i can verify if it does anything or not Smile

even someone with a basic understanding of electronics can understand how an ipod shuffle (or shitty laptop soundcard) might have trouble properly powering a "large" headphone.

I never knew how much of an enormous difference the amp makes until I first listened to a tripath amp.

The only problem with a headphone amp is that you cant bypass the built in music player amp, so whatever shitty amp distortion you get is being amplified by the 2nd amp

but yeah, that tube amp looks absolutely pimp.

The wine woot deal is actually pretty good. I don't really like white wines but I've had Andretti wine before and it's not bad.

If anyone is looking for a decent cheap wine, check out Barefoot. Their website is pretty Evan Gay but I was surprised by the wine considering I got the bottles on sale for $7. It won't knock your socks off but it drinks better than it costs.

Yeah Ducati (Jess) got me into Barefoot. It's really good and really cheap. She likes the whites which I'm not usually a fan of but they're growing on me.

Also check out 2 buck Chuck if you're on a budget!
