"power under the curve" means your power is very nicely distributed, unlike say... and s2000 where it all comes on after... fuck, i haven't driven that thing in a long time... 6k?

yeah dave has talked to me about getting a Nick G tune. Even though I'm out of warranty, I kind of like knowing that I could bring the car to Fairfax BMW (Dinan Certified) and they would at least be able to look at the car and diagnose it. I also don't think Nick G can retain the traction control.

Hahaha that would be crazy.. unless you like paying the highest labor rate BMW dealer in the US.. avoid dealers please.. there are many shops in the nova area that car better serve you and for a whole lot less

I don't plan on going to the dealer for any real maintenance work - I guess I was looking at it as - that dealer being a Dinan shop would be able to diagnose and fix a software related issue easier than any other shop?
And I know the dinan tune won't be the most aggressive, but it "should" be the most reliable and reliablity is more important to me now that squeezing out those last few HPs

Evan re-soldered the stupid little capacitor that was causing the entire climate control unit to work whenever it wanted.
it was also alot easier to shove everything back into the car then get out. But it worked the entire ride home and again this morning before I left for work. so thats a success in my book
Alright so awhile back I went to a car show in pittsburgh (Pittsburgh Gran Prix) which I highly, highly recommend to everyone, lots of really old race cars, etc.
anyway - to make a long story short, my driver's side rear window fell off - ya hear that, it fell off. WTF, thankfully it was still hinged at the rear so it was still attached to the car and didn't break.
apparently, the glue or whatever holding the actual glass to a mounting bracket came undone. I was able to get a used window in perfect condition and tinted for $40 so I've spent the morning trying to get it on my car.
Here is the problem, I got my window off in 5 minutes, but to attach the new window I need to remove the driver's side seatbelt, which seems to be impossible. I almost started to strip the bolt and decided to stop there.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking I'll need to use an impact gun to get it off, so if anyone who has one that wants to lend me a hand it will be much appreciated and beer will rain from the sky.
My weekend started today so, lemme know what works for anyone. If not, I might just take it up to Curry's and have them have a go at it, but obviously, I'd rather not have to actually "pay" someone for a 5 minute job.
I got an electric impact which should be more than fine for taking a seat belt bolt out. Are you stripping it in terms of threads or the bolt head? You making sure your using a 6-point?

Yeah its a -point and its the bolt head thats stripping - so uh - you located in NOVA?

Yeah im located in NOVA, tysons area specifically, 703-674-9sevenseven1. Id be careful about using the impact tho on an already stripping bolt, but we will see.

Those bolts likely have red thread locker on them there at the factory. You dont need an impact, you need a heat gun - get it good and hot and the thread locker gets soft and the bolt will come right out. The impact will likely make things worse unless it has serious torque - i.e. not an electric.
