Ah, okay. I thought these cars were sick and would result in comments on their own.

pretty nice, although the canards just dont look right at all for some reason. i think volks may be my favorite wheel on a hatch.

i remember seeing the thread in H-T. I voted for that last car (last two pics on this thread). I thought it was clean, but i didn't like that "JDM" red H-emblem on the hood.

volks are nice wheels but there are tons of brands out there that are easily good competition for them

How much weight do you actually save going cf hood? If its as drastic as you make it seem id go for it, despite the look.

and its front end weight, so it also helps with the (just as important) weight distribution
Evan Wrote:and its front end weight, so it also helps with the (just as important) weight distribution
just thinking, hear me out...
I wonder what would happen if some company turned the engine around, 90deg, so the crank runs parallel to the car, push the engine back against the firewall, then have the transmission underneath the dash area, and have a shaft connecting it to some sort of power splitting do-dad, with two smaller shafts connecting to the rear wheels instead of the front? It might mean there'd have to be a little hump running down the length of the interior in order to keep the car low, and maybe rob some trunk space, but wouldn't it be amazing splitting the accel and turning up between 4 tires instead of just 2? I bet the weight distribution would be a lot better too, and, wow.... it'd actually work to the car's advantage, with the weight transferring to the rear aiding in traction during accel, having less on the front during braking allowing for more rear brake to help out the fronts, and when the thing was turning, it'd lean on two tires instead of one! And there'd be more room underhood, either for more engine, or easier access! Man, it's too bad I don't know how to weld, but that'd be a bitch of a project.... I wonder if it would work?
