Poll: Should site colors be different

Well, I tried. I actually prefer darker colors, and anything but the butter. The blinding whiteness surrounding everything gets to my eyes, I think darker tones are easier to view.

I'm looking at those templates...are those the end all-be all of user options? Like, the colors shown and such aren't able to be changed? I'm not liking much of what I see there, but if colors and I assume banners were different many would be much improved.

I like the "butter" or "soft gold" or whatever you want to call it - I think its really easy to read.

I never really noticed the amount of white space, I guess that could be filled in with something - read: not black
