Learning other OSes is Geek-chic and all, but when it comes down to it, Windows is where I can get the most work done, the fastest and with the best tools

Give me vim and gcc, and I'll be productive  I'm trying to use Eclipse these days for Java, but it's been a bit painful. Old habits mean that I end up with a lot of ":w!" and "^g"'s that the autocomplete barfs on :roll: Windows... I just don't even go there.

Eclipse is good stuff when you get the hang of it, although its got its quirks. We havent moved to release 3 yet though, and I hear its a lot better.
NetBeans is worth a shot too as far as free javarr IDEs go, better than eclipse in some ways
