Edit: As I've been browsing, I've noticed the forum is pretty slow, but I haven't seen the rest of the site going slow. What are you guys experiencing? Slow forum? Slow site? Slow sections? Posting is slow? Viewing is slow? etc. If you don't know, next time the site is being slow, click around the header bar and let me know what's going slowly. It'll help diagnose the problem.

initial visit is slow, first load might take 30 seconds, then clicking the forum will take 10 clicking a thread maybe 5, switch forum, 20 stuff like that.
It's the DB server - when it started being slow/gay I did a backup of the DB - the download would lag for 45sec, go super fast, lag, fast. DB server. Thats why the main page always loads super quickly.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

i haven't had a single problem with it to date, with the exception of it losing my login cookie one time. Other than that, all's well.

I'm trying to understand.. are we sure it's the DB server only (ie. just the forum) or is it the whole site?
From my experience, it has been very random. The forum will be slow at times, and lightning fast at others.
For example, in coming to this forum right now, it was very fast; earlier browsing took forever to load. The worst I've experienced is with editing posts; it'll take up to a minute or more to load your post to be edited, and sometimes when re-submitting it or submitting your post in the first place it'll take forever to commence.
A weird experience I had is when it seems to stall and load forever, I'll open a new browser window and surf; the increased internet activity makes MM work faster somehow for me. Its as if loading seperate pages causes MM to load, this often works for me :dunno:

I've never used anything other than the forum but in my clicking around just now, seems to be the forum only.

I'm 99.99% sure its an issue with the database / database server - just like I said, when I did a dump of all the tables after this started it would lag, go at 400kbps, lag, go 400kbps. Navigating pages in MYSQL was so slow it was painful. The main page and articles/links/faq page have nothing to do with the database/DB server and load instantly. IDK if it is an issue with the database needing to be optimized or the server itself, but the problem is with the DB.

Looks like the DB server is indeed getting hammered. I'm going to clone the site and put it on an ojacko.com subdomain. There, I'll test it and see if it's any faster than nexpoint. If that goes well, I'll migrate the domain over after the officers have talked about it.
