So...any impressions? Does it live up to the hype?
I have to wait until Wed. morning to play my copy... 
I've only played it for about an hour. The storyline is pretty good so far, graphics are average but I wasn't expecting COD4 quality. Haven't gotten the chance to test out much of the new AI or violence physics yet, I'm mostly just driving around on missions.

anyone with a Wii pick up the new Mario Kart? I think its pretty awesome but I haven't played it that much yet.

I plan on picking it up this week... how are the controls? It seems like holding that wheel out for what would end up being hours on end would get old.

I actually dont like using the wheel. You can use the nunchuck and wiimote and I find its a lot easier to steer and use items and such.

I'm a few hours into it. It's a good game so far, but I haven't really run into any of the groundbreaking features. It's mostly small arms fire at the moment though, I haven't really started much carnage with explosions and stuff.. just big car pileups and a bunch of big police chases.

After leaving work at 5am, I ended up waking up around noon and went to get my preorder of GTA4...and wow...I can't remember being so easily distracted by a video game in a LONG time. It's pretty easy to lose a few hours by just riding around and seeing what's going on in the city.
I really like the new targeting and cover systems, but I'm pretty excited about all the little details that seem to make this game so real.
I'll give a quick example, the dating minigame is back in GTA 4...so after taking this girl out for dinner, I decided to liven up the evening by stealing a police car to get home. I failed to note the two cops standing around talking in the shadows until the character was about halfway through his break-in animation.
Anyway, we both pile into the car and race around town trying to dodge the police and I end up wedging the car into an alley where I'm unable to get free. I bail out and climb over the car, only to find my hapless date is out of the car yet unable to follow my lead. The police catch up, and she ends up dying in a hail of gunfile...oops. :lol:
I didn't know if eventually her character would regenerate or not, so I kept trying to call her phone and would only get her voicemail...which pretty much confirmed that she was dead or at least unable to answer the cell.
Then after a few days passed in the game, I ended up getting a phone call from her asking if I would pick her up at the hospital. The funniest part was when she asked me to call her again sometime when we got to her house!
This game is going to be a time-stealer for sure!

I'm not buying that. Not until I get a few more hours into it at least. From what I've seen right now it's a great game, but its single player hasn't captivated me like CoD4 and I doubt the multiplayer will either.
