ViPER1313 Wrote::?:Evan Wrote:It did have the whole evo motor thing which is a shame it popped (just a couple weeks after he bought it for $9k too) Quote:The final version of the S14 features increased cylinder bore (to 95mm) and a long-stroke crank for a new total displacement of 2,467cc. This engine was used exclusively in the 1990 E30 M3 Sport Evoltuion, built from 12/89 to 03/90. In addition to the increased displacement, the valves were enlarged and a more aggressive cam was fitted. Special nozzles sprayed oil under the pistons to keep them cool. All Sport Evolution motors were equipped with catalysts. Power increased to 238 hp (DIN) at 7,000 rpm, though peak torque decreased slightly (over the Evolution II) to 177 lb/ft at 4,750 rpm

looks pretty cool. how rare is the color? might be worth it just to snatch it up and hang on to for a while until you find someone you can make a grand or two off of.
otherwise, find a new motor and enjoy driving something you don't see many of, until you're bored with it or it needs a boatload of maintenance.

tell him 3k would be the deal of the century and offer him 4k or bite your ass. Let it stand until he can't sell it and takes your offer.
What' "popped" and is the motor definitely toast? Maybe you can take it off his hands for 5, fix, and sell for big profit?

If the timing chain let go and bent das valves... its $10k to rebuild the motor from what I've read. I wish I knew why, because its nothing special, but only a few people around the country have der magic dust to put them back together well.

A guy from RRT built the motor and it popped 2k miles later.

.RJ Wrote:its kind of a clusterfuck. The RRT guy sold him the car. So he promised free labor to rebuild the motor but Mhyar still has to pay for parts. Yet somehow if its just a bearing its at least going to be $2k to fix. so who knows.Evan Wrote:A guy from RRT built the motor and it popped 2k miles later.

Ooh that looks like Henna! Awesome color. Looks like it's an '88? Has an Evo3 front lip too...if it's real, they're big bucks. And 16" weaves, also?
If the interior is good, and the motor isn't horrifically blown...$5k is actually a pretty good deal.

Rebuilding it can be that bad. A freind and I rebuilt his e30 m3 motor to evo specs. 2.3 to 2.5 or something like that?? it was like 7 years ago. It wasnt too much different over any other motor. parts however are big money.
Seems like a good deal.. that thing is begging for a e36 m3 motor

well, Mhyar sold the car. People were falling all over themselves to pay $8k for it, so I guess you could say that $5k was a good deal.

ahha yes, I was wondering if it was the same guy, I saw a post from him selling a SpecE30 and he mentioned he'd sold an M3 pretty quickly as well.

Yeah, I heard about it through RRT too. Think they had it on their website. Word spreads quickly I guess.

If "E30M3 for sale" travels that fast these days, I'm guessing the value of them can only go up in the next 5 years.
E30s ARE A GOOD INVESTMENT!

Wish I could say the same thing for e36/e46 m3 prices right now. I think it only traveled because it was one of their customers. Some guy was thinking of making some sort of drag car out of it. I don't think he got it.
