But only around 120 or so for the year. Not a terribly large number considering how many motorcycles there probably are in VA. Its interesting to me how in the article they attribute the increase to older riders on cruisers. I wonder how many of those fatalities belong to Busa riders.

It'd be nice if they published their data set... because nobody said much of anything

It doesn't seem a stretch given that baby boomers are reaching "cruiser age" at an increased pace.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
but the crap that the AMA is fighting off in some reguards but might accept is a classed motorcycle license.
baby boomer with a motorcycle in his garage for X number of year could qualify for the bikes they ride now... on displacement mind you... but obviously they arent qualified to ride them or anything else for that matter.

statistics are incomplete. no mention of experience level, situation, at-fault, or citations issued. And the insurance institute classification of motorcycles is bizarre.....the 'busa is considered a sport-touring bike.
I wonder how many fatalities on 211....

The usual number, I think.

I read the article in the Times. If you look at the amount of motorcycle deaths in a year, it really isn't that high. A good number would be to compile all the miles ridden by everyone and figure the percentage chances of death. But that number could probably never be found.

... and it wouldn't tell you much of anything because it doesn't establish any differentiation.
