lotta HP, where's he gonna put it down though? IMO its way too bling and unusable.
My goal is a setup that will put down a strong 700 when pushed so that I can run 550-600 consistently without any stress on the system. In other words, he has about twice the amount of power I want, but I'll be able to actually use mine.

yup. power numbers are cool, but not when the car is undrivable. who was watching the mine's skyline in best motoring w/ me at evan's? their goal was to make the car "responsive" and damn if they didn't beat the high-powered supra by 4s a lap. i think they even stepped down in motor size...

A lot of us? I think not. But I bet a lot of us could own it on an Auto-X course.

That thing is probably going to be either spooling or spinning its wheels for a lot of the first to gears... maybe he hooked up one of those super sophistimcated traction control dealies..

He'd own me without the turbo. Spooling up doesn't cause the car to be any slower than an NA car would be, does it?

well initially because of lag wouldn't he?

You call that car too bling? The interior/exterior are beautiful. The engine is shiny yes, but in a good way.
And I love how everyone assumes supras are just dyno queens (even me) but perhaps, just perhaps, he would own you all on an autox course.

Now, I'm not even that good at autocross, but I gotta think that gaining 400 hp in the span of 2000 rpm is not really ideal on an autox course. The first time he sees a tight corner he has to go into lag-land and by the time he gets out of it he's gonna have to turn again.
Road course maybe..

I'm 100% certain I would beat him at an autocross unless maybe there was a nat'l champ behind the wheel.
I'm 50% certain he would destroy me on a typical road course assuming he could drive (damn straights). As John said, 400hp in a split second is a big jump, and it would be incredibly difficult to handle.
And why do we think most Supras are dyno queens? Because they are! Huge power with a giant snail isn't drivable... They may be good at drag racing, but... eh... I won't go there
I think most of us are with you, it's an amazing looking car and the numbers are equally impressive. Unofortunately, good looks and huge power don't get you very far
