I picked up the DVD this week (and the book too) - its basically a story about a couple of guys on a motorcycle trip around the world, and Ewan McGregor is the same guy that narrated 'Dust to Glory'.
Any of y'all interested in watching it together (my house is fine) one afternoon next week? Wed/Thurs is probably best I'd think.

journey around the world.....with a fully equipped support truck and crew.

I'd be down. If I miss out, I'd like to borrow the DVD
Two feet.
Awww... a DVD watching party. Are you going to watch The Notebook too?
You do realize the runtime is like 6 hours, right?

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
So, the book came in yesterday and around 10:30pm I picked it up - and then I couldnt put it down. By the time I finished it was 3am. Really interesting story, and certainly not a rich guy vacation world tour with support vehicles covering the whole trip. However if one of them wasnt a well known actor I dont think they would have made it through the eastern europe border crossings.

I'm waiting for it to come to DVD. If you guys haven't seen long way round, check it out. It's really good.
Two feet.
The wife is a huge McGregor fan so she was giving me weekly updates from their website.
BBC owns it but it'll likely be shown on TV here before it is released to DVD. I'm pegging a start date around the first of the year.

I've had the Long Way Round in my NetFlix queue for a long time now, and for some odd reason it never shows. Instead we keep getting installments of random bad movies that my fiancee somehow chooses... I need to re-evaluate our queue again as I'm tired of bad movies. LOL

Set up a separate queue, put all her movies in it and set it to a 1 DVD allowance.

I thought episode 1 was ok at best. A little boring. I just wanted them to get on the road. I'm looking forward to ep2.
I watched the series with my girl about a year ago I think, maybe more recent. We both loved it. Yea they've got a support crew, but big shit. You ain't doing the kind of ride they do without one.

We only have one queue since we are on the cheap 1-DVD allowance plan...

That's not really true. And it's really the main reason I've stayed away from this.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.
