I am shamed. We don't have that.

But I've got USAA, too, so I don't lose Wink

Julie and I love BoA for the same reasons evan listed.

The check scanny thing is BALLIN-ASS I used to hate the rare occasions I would have to deposit checks and now it's a breeze.

The online banking does everything but the dishes, and customer service (Especially at the HBurg branch) has never been anything but stellar.

The evil machines will steal j00r mon3Y!

I've even keyed in the wrong amount and got a notice in the mail from Wachovia that they corrected my mistake.

I'd like to offer a -1 for Chevy Chase. My wife used to have them and they had HORRIBLE customer service.

I think I have them all to a certain extent...

I primarily have used BOA Checking due to the convenience factor of their multiple locations and the fantastic web interface. Never used them for a loan since their best rates are lackluster.

With USAA, I have a checking and savings account (in addition to my insurance and credit card) - they will reimburse you for your ATM fees and have the best rate when withdrawling overseas (don't charge you $5+ like BOA does). As noted, you can scan in your checks for deposit and the web interface is pretty good. Loan rates are average, nothing spectacular.

NFCU has amazing loan rates, but their web interface sucks donkey poo. They are primarily located out of the DC area, but thankfully there's a branch across the street from my apt building.

Otherwise I've dealth with NMAC which was average, and Chase Manhattan for my Subaru lease, which was an abortion of a financial institution. Don't get me started on my disasterous experiences with them as this forum will run out of bandwidth...

hahah, my subaru loan was with them too.
didnt have any problems except it took them a long time to transfer the title to the buyers bank.
of course, all they really did was take my money every month.

300? I thought the standard was 500? I know I can get 500 out of all the ATMs around here, I usually just pull out the max once a month or so, I hate having to waste the time.

yeah, I never trusted the envelope thing. I like having full accountability and record through the whole process.

yeah, to get back to Chris -- it's a paranoia thing. i have lots of habits like this  and i have no idea where some of them come from.

I have BoA and only switched recently from Chase. BoA is everywhere. Hooray. Even in Cali. My favorite feature by far has to be the online My Portfolio. It monitors each of your bank accounts. I plug in my Chase CC, BoA CC, Schwab investment accounts, and Cap One. It's snazzy and gives you charts and shit. And shit.

To be honest, I don't know. I'm an "I must always carry cash" kinda guy but generally only get $200 at a time. The last few times I've pulled more than that out was because I was traveling or buying something with cash. In that case I wanted the big bills anyway.

We were w/ Suntrust and they were charging $5 for online banking and another $5 for billpay.

Wachovia bought out Prudential Securities a few years ago so we recently switched banking over to them too when we set up our daughters account. She is in Farmville at Longwood Univ. and Wachovia was the closest major bank in the area. The old ladies in the drive thru must go through southern belle hospitality training.

It is great to go to one site and see everything on the home page. They let you pick which account to use for individual online payments.

I am going to work for Navy Federal so we'll see what happens...hard to beat credit unions. Might have to re-fi.

I have a really legitimate reason why I hate Wachovia and cancelled all of my accounts with them, but I'm about to run out to kick around the soccer ball so I'll post up when I get home.

I use Middleburg Bank now for most of my banking and investment accounts and I absolutely love them for every possible reason I can think of.

Why I banned Wachovia:

I had an investment account set up through them. I liquidated some stock back in the day to put a sizeable downpayment on my first WRX. The checks that came in were corporate checks, cut from Coca Cola and Pitney Bowes... two pretty well established companies. I deposited them a few weeks before I wanted to buy my car, and went to pull the money out to put the down payment down. They still had not cleared yet. They gave me some bullshit about how I was a new customer and how they were "verifying the validity" of the checks in their system. I fucking threw a fit, I damn near bounced a big ass check. I called up all kinds of managers, forced them to clear my money, pulled it out and immediately closed all of my accounts with them.

When I deposit money at Middleburg Bank, it is in my account THAT day, no matter what kind of check it is (unless it's late in the business day and it shows up the next day). I need that kind of speed from a bank... when I deposit checks into my investment account now, they are wire transferred that day to the holding company. I have one guy that I deal with who knows me by name. Big banks are necessary, but I will never trust one again for anything other than larger access to a simple checking account.

Seems legit to me... I can't say I would cancel all my accounts for a few checks not clearing in a timely manner.
