When driving (under power in any gear) in the minivan and I turn the wheel past center going right I hear a rumbling noise that appears to be coming from the left side. My first thought was wheel bearing (the right one was replaced some time ago for a similar problem on left hand turns) but here is the kicker. When I depress the clutch or pull it out of gear while the noise is being made it goes away...axle? That's the only thing I can think off that could be causing it. I can be accelerating of or engine braking and it is still there, until the clutch goes it then it goes away slowly as the transmission slows down.
Is there anything clutch related that could be causing this? Also of note, the faster I am going the louder it is.

An axle will still make noise. It's the angle and speed that causes the balls to rub against the cage.
I don't know what your problem is but you need to dump this van ASAP. But of course, you're a battered wife so you'll just come up with another excuse.

Who the fuck would buy it?
I was thinking cv joints as well. Is it more of a click than a squeal (wheel bearing)?
cv joints would still make noise. It wouldn't stop if he popped it out of gear.

I suppose there is still stress from the drivetrain on the wheel? So if you remove that stress it would make sense to me that it could reduce the noise.
I can throw the thing into a corner tires squalin' with it rumbling and then in the middle push in the clutch and it is gone....can't be a wheel bearing. And I figure that the damn throw out bearing would to it on both left and right turns if that was to blame.

I can think of 50 other cars I'd rather have before a busted ass paint peeling 80's minivan.

Yup sounds like CV joint to me. I've seen this alot with the remaned ones. If they aren't balanced right they will shake or rumble when you have a load on them. Yeah, Its weird that it doesn't happen when there is no load, one would think if its turning it should cause the problem, but I've seen this many times.
Well, it turns out it was the transmission mount. I used an 89 and older mount from the Daytona because it was all I had and it did not fit the 90+ style mounting points I have in the van. I got a 90+ style bracket and mount off td.com and it leveled out the engine and moved it to the right about an inch. This re-aligned the axle pretty substantially and got the mount off metal to metal contact with the frame rail...all better now!

He'd want the van to hand out free candy! That guy looks slightly disturbed
I wonder if this new problem has anything to do with your frantic, tire squealing take offs and sharp turns under WOT all over town. I don't think I've ever seen you driving that van without the hammer down
you guys need to stop talking shit until you actually ride in the thing. its fuckin cool.

I have to agree with Evan on this one. Though I think minivans are the gayest thing ever, I really like Jeff's. Now, I think he needs to dump it sooner than later, but I think you guys should stop giving him so much shit. He's not asking you to drive it.

Why? This is MM, where we slowly beat you down until you know your life is pathetic and meaningless and you slowly drift into a life of gayness and miata driving. Working so far.

Ok, you might have a point there. There is a lot of miata driving around these parts.
