While an ambulance would be really cool, I've already gone the route of the 20-year old $2k truck and I'm really hoping to get something relatively nice. I'd rather spring the extra $5-10k to get something made this decade with more amenities. It will probably serve as a DD for a little while as well, so I need to keep that in mind.
Don't get me wrong it's a good idea, but I already tried it and find myself wanting more. I also don't see that being capable of pulling 2 cars and a trailer without some big upgrades.

I dont regret getting it for a second but I wouldnt say that its the smartest route and for most people getting a cheaper truck is smarter if its not a DD.

I'm confused by this. I was saying I've done the cheap route, but this time I'll spend the extra dough to get the nicer, more powerful, newer truck. I'm sure I can find a '00-'03 for ~$10k once I am in a position to have cash in hand and can actively look for deals. Right now, I'm researching to determine what I need to be looking for, as I'd love to be looking for the new truck by the end of summer. (<-- don't quote that).

Im just making the point that a new truck (like a tundra which i think has been ruled out anyway) or even a newer deisel is probably a waste if its only a work vehicle.
