So I told myself I was going to take a break after my accident, save some money, and learn how to ride. But I tell myself a lot of things, and sometimes, there are deals that a crack addict can't pass up.

Drove up to Santa Monica at lunch today, and put a deposit down on my new toy. She was a steal for what she's equipped with... Going back up on Tuesday to trailer her home.

Great. Another high power/weight ratio car for driving around by yourself in a circle.

Man up and race something!

P.S. - Screw you and your nice ass car.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Holy crap that is such a fantastic car. Just got done watching a couple of those things scoot around the autocross course this weekend and just stared everytime they went by. Such a great piece of machinery, especially sitting on Ohlins... just wow. Congrats to you.

Congrats on the ride man. That is such an awesome car, I can't imagine it with a supercharger. I've narrowed down my next sports car (whenever that may be) to either that car or a new Vette. For me, the Vette will probably win out, but I would never turn down an Elise ^_^

The Exige S is going for over 60K - I got this S/C Elise with some extra goodies for $37K. Like I said, it was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

A friend of mine was trying to get me to pick up a 03-04 Z06, but to be honest, I'm tired of spending ridiculous amounts of money on consumables (tires and brake pads). 275 RA1s for my Z were $1320 mounted at Radial, and front brake pads were $250. I can't imagine spending more for wider tires - it gets old really fast. With the Elise I can probably get a year out of RA1s at a much more reasonable price (~$850). Now I just need StopTech to develop a set of 2-piece OEM-size rotors for me... Smile

I am? I live in San Diego - next to Mexico - that's 400 miles south as the crow flies. However, I will be up near you this weekend, but in SF and with a blazing fast compact rental car. Maybe next time... Smile

I don't blame you! I saw a set of tires at AutoZone last time I was there that they special ordered for a C6 Z06 who was going to the drag strip that night. They were HUGE!! I know with a car like that (and knowing what mods I'd do to it when I got it) I would be burning through tires like nothing!

Now to me, cheap and Lotus don't go together though. I'm sure you do all your own work on your cars, so that should help you save some cash (as well as the fact that it's a Toyota motor). I do know that getting service done on that thing is EXPENSIVE! Didn't that one guy who has one on this board say that it's like $400 for something as simple as an oil change?
