Garage Parking in Arlington
#1
I've started working on site here in Arlington, and my company will reimburse parking. Client site is right across the street from the Viginia Sq metro stop.

I can take the metro (walk to East Falls Church metro, 2 stops to Va Sq). This isnt so bad and total time is about 30 minutes, dont have to drive anywhere, its less than $3/day. The other option is to take the bike and get on 66 (HOV). I was here in under 10 minutes this morning.... and if my employer will pay for parking this seems like a no-brainer. Does anyone know of any pay by the month parking garages near that metro stop? I found one, but they were waffling on whether there really were any spots available or not and I have to fill out an application (w-t-f, over?) for a spot. Ideally I'd like to find something no further than a few blocks away - if I have to walk 10-15 minutes from the garage to the office, it defeats the whole point of taking the bike, I can take metro in the same amount of time.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

sucks, I have no idea where that metro is, just trying to help, sorry man. Why don't you just take the bike around the block a few times, can't be that hard to find one if there is one, and considering you only want a 2 block walk, not that many roads to ride down.

Check second post...

Unrelated but this map's pretty cool if you're curious about which metro station is closest to where are at/going.

i've never had an issue with parking at those monthly spots, but where pedal bikes go before you actually get in to the lot. granted, not all that secure, but free!

i'm not sure if all places has spots like that, but the ballston garage does.

I filled out paperwork at a garage right behind the metro stop - but I may have to wait until April 1st to get in. Gotta come in after 7am, and leave before 7pm. I guess they double book the garage with monthly spots?

I'd rather just ride my bicycle... I rode the pedal bike past the office on the way to the bike shop in clarendon and it was ~5 miles from my house to the office.

I think the idea of biking is better than actually doing it isnt it? How do you keep from sweatin up your suit, or business clothes and such? that'd be good on days where the temp didnt get above 65 or so..I dunno about other times though.

Unfortunately, no Sad

If I could, then it would be a no-brainer and bike in. At least i'm on gov't schedule and 10 min from home and I can hop on after work.
