ok i have more experience with Verizon (service) for those interested.

i recently had my phone stolen (left phone in the car and the car was broken into again) and i have to say i'm pretty pleased with Verizon's service. They were able to suspend my service instantly with secure identity verification, activated an old phone, and reactivated my stolen phone (someone found it and turned it in by contacting my house line) with no cost. They even pro-rated my picture messaging service for my old phone (since it didn't have a camera) and pro-rated my service at the same time with no hassel and friendly service.

the cell phone insurance company was another story (Asurion). They were a little difficult to deal with and they gave inaccurate/inconsistent information regarding what i could do.

I have a 38.46 charge on my bill for "other charges"... what the fuck?

At least sprint never tried to fuck me on billing.

with Verizon my billing cycle started when i started my contract, although it could work differently i believe.

i'd just call and ask what these "other charges" were. That's what happened when i called Wachovia and asked what the $2 MISC charges were on my statement. They tried to give me the run around, but i found out that it was additional non-wachovia atm withdrawal fees...basically double charging me for non-atm withdrawals...sneaky bastards.

I just called... they want me to pay an activation fee, in addition to the activation fee I already paid in the store.

This is pissing me off already - and when I tried to call their service line, the call dropped twice.

I think I have a winner. The damn thing wasnt cheap, but from everything I read I cant find anything bad to say about it, other than some nags about features or high speed downloads. Sitting in my basement, where I wouldnt get spotty service before, I get full signal and clear audio. I'm sold.

I am now a Sprint customer. Rguy hooked me up. Offer was so good I couldn't refuse. Picked up a Sanyo Katana. I did a lot of extensive cnet.com research, and the reviews for it were much better than the Razr v3m. Here is the phone:

Any phone should be better than the Razr. I hate mine. I hate it so much in fact, I smashed it on the bar one night because it was messing up so bad, and the new one Verizon sent me sucks just as much. I can't wait until October when I get my big phone discount. Probably going to pick up an nV or maybe an Iphone if I can bring myself to drop that much money on something with features I'll rarely use.
