MSRP was almost always meaningless for those cars. If you can't buy a GTO for under 30, it's because you're mentally deficient.

I like the GTO. Sure, it may not be a direct relative of the original muscle car, but what it lacks in muscle car looks, it makes up in muscle car heart.
Back in the day, I don't think people gave a shit if it looked like a family car as long as it kicked the ass of the car beside it, and especially if it was a good deal of a car. That being said, I think that the Monaro looks like more of a grocery getter than the GTO. Call me crazy.

I'm sure they could have done better on the styling. I think if they would have simply recessed the grille it would have looked better.
Would it be my first choice for a car? No Would I consider it, even though it looks like a cross between a Cavalier and a Grand Prix? Sure. But I would drive it whether if it was the Monaro or the GTO.

I said it in the other thread and I still agree with myself; GTO looks like a grand am. Yes they make awesome power, but that only takes you so far in a sports car in my book.
Used C5 > GTO. in my book at least.

I would definately take a used C5 over a GTO, but Rex does have a point, there is something to be said for picking up a new car.
However, the C5 couldn't be a convertable, because I am neither Barbie, or a balding middle aged man.
