Talk is cheap, are you suggesting these riots and firesetting is a right wing false flag?
What? No. I'm just sick of hearing that all the rioting and destruction is from left wing aNtIfA!
We've seen right wing groups causing chaos (see: umbrella man) at many of the protests and here we have blatant proof of plotting to cause chaos, harm, or shoot people by the far right. Just providing what Kaan asked for.

they did out that one cop that was all dressed up and causing havoc.... but they have arrested a lot of folks in portland over that federal court house and none of them have popped with traditional extremist tattoos and such.

I think we can all agree there are extreme fucknuts on the right and left. The bottom line for me is I'm advocating supporting candidates from both sides that pull both parties back towards the center (and my beliefs). Else, we'll all be holding our dicks voting Libertarian while the chasm of hate gets wider and wider. Unfortunately, I see that as a foregone conclusion given the size and socioeconomic/geographic distribution of our populace. I'd like to think it's not so, but if COVID has done anything it's taught me that we just really, really like fighting with one another. My vote for Biden tells the Dems I can actually stomach them without their hardcore progressive agenda.
P.S. - America is pretty much the only country in the top 10 population that doesn't have a far more totalitarian or corrupt government. I don't think that's a coincidence.
1. China - 1,394,015,977

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

there was nothing reasonable about this situation, and any victim blaming about not having any permits or other such nonsense misses the point by a mile - the point that our military was turned on peaceful citizens for some bullshit propaganda photo.
I dont think the Democrat ticket is our savior and they are just as complicit in the wealth gap and shit justice system situation, but, at the moment the longer Trump is in office the more damage is being done to our gov't, our institutions, our traditions and our relationships both at home and abroad.
Right now, these are our choices.

I really wish the idea of a flat tax could really gain traction. People just want to highlight the drawbacks and completely dismiss it like any other solutions could be perfect. Everyone would have no choice but to pay their share (which is what people seem to want most) and dodging taxes would be as easy as not buying shit. Simple as that.

Nice out of context screenshot. The Times even said at the beginning of the piece they are not alleging any crime. Simply showing how Trump cannot run a successful business, has hundreds of millions of dollars in debt coming due within the next 4 years (that he personally guaranteed), and may also have inflated property values to obtain more favorable refunds (see Manhattan DA investigation).
How can a president with $421 million in loans coming due not have a conflict of interest with literally everything in his life?
It also speaks to this fake image he has gotten his followers to believe - that he is actually a good businessman and will run the country like many of his (un)successful business ventures. The ironic part is the only venture he is actually making money in (according to this report) is his 30% stake in Vornado that he has no management role in.
If you're legally playing in the tax code, then so be it. The rules are the rules. But if it's proven that he inflated property value for loans and refunds then he should be tried in court like any other American.
This seems to be the basis of the investigation into his $72 million refund. How about all the seemingly fake consulting fees that went to Ivanak for projects in Turkey and Azerbaijan. Why would she be paid as a consultant when her role with the Trump Organization is literally the same duties she seems to have been paid as a consultant? One possible answer is for Trump to deduct these fees as business expenses and for him to transfer wealth to Ivanka while going around the estate tax. The Times even provided an example of this exact thing happening in Chicago by a group of lawyers.
At the very least, this shows you that Trump is nothing more than a con (which anyone with a few brain cells already knew) and that once again rich people always find a way to take advantage of whatever system they can, while the rest of us get stuck holding the bag.

interesting how it took a crowbar to pry those tax returns out of his hands after he promised to voluntarily release them as early as 2014 when he was considering a run at the office. he's a stable genius with " big returns that are all approved and very beautiful" with nothing to hide, so i'm confused why it took so long.
that said - as i read it, i'm entirely sure his returns are 100% legal and that the team of attorneys and accountants that manage them are likely paid bigly sums to make sure of that. but that's not the point...its that he's a liar about his worth and his debts, which is in conflict with what he claims makes him such a great and worthy leader.
to Jon's point, between his refusal to divest himself from his businesses or put them in a blind trust while at the same time charging taxpayers with the bill for gov't entourages staying at his hotels (1 mil charged, and counting) and the reasonable suspicion of being leveraged by Deutsche Bank, its amazing, but not surprising, that his compromised ethics weren't seriously investigated at the start.

His accountants did what they were paid to do, reduce his tax liability. Shrug. Lots of grey areas and loopholes there, but, thats the game. People should be more upset at the fucked up tax code in that there are thousands of assholes just like Trump not paying anything, more so than learning what we already knew.

apparently i need another accountant... mine SUCKS in comparison.
I got an email from backcountry hunters and anglers... The new DOI (Department of the Interior for you folks not in DC) director (FU TRUMP) appointed the worst possible person to run BLM (Burro of Land Management) ... this guy is 100% for giving the federally managed public lands to the states to manage or sell or mine or whatever... and his first week put 30 million acres for sale. (okay its proposed and will take time to get out... but still)
why cant we have a real balanced approach to public lands?!?!? its my land, its your land, its your kids land, its your unborn grand kids land...

that WP article said 4 boogs were arrested (i'm going to guess it was that LV issue) but 40k were arrested over all... it also says extremists (non affiliated) and local hooligans were more likely the cause of violence.
I'm not saying it was a reasonable response in DC... what i am saying is people need to be WAY more in tuned with the laws getting passed because they can be abused (and have been). i'm not blaming the victims... i'm preaching future folks need to be more prepared.
we have a level of naivete in the US over this stuff... I mean they have quickly learned from HK and other protests how to start protecting themselves... the cone and water bottle techniques, umbrellas, leaf blowers, etc. But across the world (most recently in Columbia) live rounds are being fired over protesters throwing rocks at the police station... they are paying a much higher price than we are (for now)

I think Biden did a decent job. He was rocky at the start but came together towards the end. He brought good stats and facts (while still exaggerating other points).
Trump looked unhinged and chaotic, but it was what I expected to some extent. I thought he would at least let Biden talk a few times. Wallace asked tough questions but could not control Trump and even pandered to him a few times with "Mr President, you'll really like this question".
I think the best thing Biden did was expose Trump's utter disdain for anyone but himself. He was able to hammer Trump on his Covid response and really got him going about his family. When Trump stated how much money his family lost coming into government, Biden did a great job of speaking to the camera about how Trump only cares about himself and his family's money.
