I live in Ballston in a condo I own (it's small but I like it) I don't want a yard or a garage. I am still able to invest a fair amount of my money. It can be done.

I could see me working on the CB project in a condo i owned... i'd have to put down stainless steel flooring and wall cover up to 4 feet or so!

of course it can be done, i have a house in fairfax, right next to the govnt center. i still max out my 401k and put in my 4k to my IRA, as well as play with stocks. it is all how you set up yourself, and prepare for the house. I am able to live comfortably on my salary, invest, and still have toys.
granted i put a good penny down to afford my house, i got it at a great deal, and more than 100k off the asking price.
